HELMET ANYONE?
If anyone needs a full face helmet for the day (if you don\'t have your own), the good news is Crissy has a spare full face, medium size one available.

The bad news? It\'s black with pink dragons on; so maybe good for those with tinted windows?

Seriously, if anyone wants to borrow it, first to yell here gets it. If it doesn\'t fit on the day then you can always drop back to the helmet hire option.

Warning though, you might be a serious photography target on the day :D

TRACKDAY TIPS

Crissy also found this http://www.driving-days.co.uk/track-day-preparation.php. Quite a useful checklist for those who\'ve not been on a trackday before. I\'ll post up another checklist later, one that\'s been added to by various people over the past 2 years, and with RX\'s specifically in mind.

Cheers Casey. Luckily my mate has a spare I can borrow. I always keep spare oil, brake fluid and water in the car too :) Best see what I can take out of the storage bins too!

HOTELS

I checked with the Beaumont Hotel today and they said;

"We have 2 single rooms @ £40 available. I also have one twin @ £55 and I have a couple of doubles left. I can give you the doubles on SO rate for £50. If you would like to make any more reservations please fill in the attached form and return to me ASAP as our rooms do book up quite quickly".

You will NOT find these rooms available vai the hotel website booking service!

Rather than fill out the form, the contact details for the hotel are;

Jennifer Tymlin
Reservations Manager
Tel: +44 (1) 1229 432378
Fax: +44 (1) 131 2258022
Email: jennifer@magnusproperties.co.u

Just mention my name, Malcolm Case, when making the booking, so they can match it to the email they sent with the offer.

Alternative accommodation, not far from the Beaumont, acn be found here http://www.royaloaksplash.co.uk/ with reasonable room rates, and rooms available when I checked. Crissy is booked in there (and paid a deposit) as the Beaumont website claimed today, wrongly, that they had no rooms less than £55/night.

:wiggle:wiggle UPDATED LIST, we\'ve now filled up all the guaranteed discounted places available for us. Awaiting reply from Alistair at MazdaOnTrack about more places to us. So, if you are still thinking about coming along to have some SERIOUS fun, then get your name down quick so I know how many to secure

**CONVOY SUGGESTION** Those driving up from South * South East
Crissy & I are travelling up on Thursday afternoon and could take the A14 route from Colchester, then A1 to Peterborough. I can\'t see anywhere to rendezvous on that A1 stretch, but there is a huge "Serpentine Green" Shopping Centre on the outskirts of Peterborough, on our route, just off the A16 at PE7 8BE. There\'s a Tesco Cafe where we could hang around for everyone to meet before convoying on from there. It\'s about 70 miles, almost all on the A16, to Louth, so around an hour and a bit from there. I\'m flexible on meeting time, but wouldn\'t mind getting to Louth before the traffic builds up, so, "starter for 10", propose leaving the Serpentine around 3.00pm, but could be persuaded to shift that time either way to fit in with others.

What do others think that are travelling in that direction?

Can the people on the list who haven\'t yet paid plse PM me (thx Najiru, I have your PM) or email me at cadwell@casecomputers.co.uk to confirm whether you are still intending coming along or not - thx

Tim_B has sadly had to withdraw; he\'s PM\'d me to say his engine needs a rebuild:(. Good luck Tim!
Jurg has also confirmed that he, sadly, can\'t make it over from Germany.

DMDRIFTING

Quote from: clive;611798Sorry about the late reply, only just seen this,

If any guest joins MRC they are immediately entitled to any benefits the club has on offer,

As this great day out needs a bit of a kick up the pants and not many have subscribed we will increase the club donation to £30 per member attending, so you will now get this for just £119 which must now be a bigger carrot to get people out on to this event,

Time and time again our members have complained that everything is down South, this one isn\'t so come and have a great day, remember you can wander around at your pace on these type of track days and just have fun,

So come on people come and have fun in your car with no fear of losing your license.

Not sure if I can get my car ready in time but I will pay for a space tonight.

Hi Clive,

superb, many thanks for your reply, i would be traveling up from Hampshire, but the track looks worth it.

Will be talking with Tim on Monday to see how the car is going?

Kind Regards

Casey

:3gears-lh LAST CHANCE?

ALSO, I\'m out of the country from Tues 9th to Wed 17th, so probably won\'t be able to access the forum mand keep on top of things. If you want to go, please let me know quickly, so I can "bag" some more discounted places!

:Giggle:Giggle Understood!

I think it\'s only fair that on track you should have to tow your towing vehicle on the trailer - only chance I\'ll have of overtaking you :Laugh

Looking forward to seeing your "beast"

OK, I\'m guessing some of us have already had a look to see what the track is like. For those of you who want a good idea of what Cadwell Park is like from a driver\'s perspective, here\'s a good in-car video to view;

TRACKDAY ADVICE

Several people in our group have asked for advice about the day. I have cobbled together the attached "Word" document from various sources (I claim nothing original!). For the "old hands" in the group I apologise if this is obvious stuff. Also, if the more experienced amongst us think I\'ve missed something important than please say so :D

Well I serviced the brakes today and put new hi performance fluid in too. Now for the rest of the jobs!
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Am a bit confused, do I still pay in the shop for a discounted spot or are these still to be confirmed? I have already confirmed that I want one by pm.
