FD3 oily smoke on idle....

After a run (not on startup) my FD3 has started smoking a bit on idle (blue smoke)  When the engine is revved in neutral the smoke dissapears.

Before I decide this is the turbos oil seals is there any other likely cause?

One thing that I have noticed is that after a full service I could not hear the DV\'s (standard re-circ) dumping when lifting off.  The car runs an ARC induction box, and prior to the service I could hear the DV\'s well enough?.... Maybe there is a restriction somewhere?

smoke on idle is usually the turbo seals bud as you\'ve guessed. Are the standard CRV and ABV plumber into the arc induction? if so then you shouldn\'t be able to hear them anyways.

charge relief valve and air blow-off valve, the 2 bov that look identical to each other.

thanks - yep, they are both plumbed in.

You\'ll not hear them then bud so that fine. If you miss the sound then simply remove the pipe leading back to the induction kit and blank off the empty connector on the induction kit. Much cheaper than buying aftermarket and TBH sounds identical.

Does that create any issues with idle or reading unmetered air?  sorry if that is a daft question - still getting to grips with the 13B!

it didn\'t for me bud. As long as you blank off the remaining holes you\'ll be fine. As far as i know it helps with engine temps as the air released by the standards BOV\'s is hot and is released back into the air intake, so stopping this happening can only reduce intake temps.

No p[robs with unmetered air It\'s a MAP system not MAF, so you don\'t get that iddue So just bung up the holes on the airbox so you don\'t draw in any any unfiltered air.
