Quote from: Casey;606888Your normal insurance won\'t cover you so your options are;
1. Talk to your insurers and see if they will cover you for the day for a fee. This is probably a wate of time, as normal insurers simply aren\'t interested in trackday insurance.
2. Go without any cover - I know a lot of people who do this.
3. Get cover from one of the specialist trackday insurers. I\'ve used http://www.moris.co.uk for trackdays, costs around £75 for cover with around £750 excess and £8000 cover. The reason I use this company is that I know a guy who had to claim and they paid out, no hassle. You might get cheaper, but check whether they have a good history of paying out!

Cheers matey :)

I did Cadwell last year in my FD, it was fantastic, my favourite track so far bar Silverstone GP (which is a lot more expensive!)

The noise limit is a static test at ~50% revs, so you will need a pretty noisy exhaust to trip it (unlike Donington\'s 98db drive-by!) They test at the start of the day and give you a "passed" sticker. Mine was only 92db! Although my exhaust was very quiet and passed Donington\'s test easily too.

The track is great, actually suited the FD quite well, although as usual there is the odd corner where gearing is annoying (i.e. shift up and immediately back down) and a couple of the hairpins saw the lighter cars through faster. It\'s not too hard on brakes either, although you will need to haul yourself down when you come through the "forest" and at the end of the main straight, which is pretty quick (think I got around 130mph, but my speedo was well dodgy, so who knows!)

I\'m there in my DC5 on 10th June this year, hoping the weather holds again - I wouldn\'t fancy the forest section with over-hanging trees on a wet day!

I\'m struggling with getting the day off work, I\'m only able to have the afternoon atm but am trying to arrange the morning too.

Do you need a towing eye to go on track as I haven\'t got one?

I hope you can sort you day off in time!

A towing eye is requested (front or rear, not normally both), but a lot of people with bodykits can\'t fit them, so they normally aren\'t 100% compulsory. In case you should have an "off" (hopfully not!) then just be aware of where a recovery strap/rope could be attached to a secure bit of chassis. That way you can tell the recovery guys to save time. In reality, I expect those guys are quite used to finding somewhere anyway, but you might want to protect any bodykit from being ripped off :Giggle

Just tell your boss your suffering from stress and that this is the ideal way of stress relief. Then add if they would like to contribute to a team/workforce stress relief day then it would be nice.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

The only time I was checked for a towing eye was at Rockingham, thankfully on the one occasion I had one fitted! It wasn\'t looked at when I was at Cadwell last year.

However, they will pull you out any old way if you\'re in the kitty litter and that can bend things and damage bodywork, so be advised of where to attach a pull rope in the event! Places NOT to put it - the tie-down hoops at the corners of the chassis (these can\'t support the full weight of the car and will bend) and a strut bar, because that will bend under the full weight of the car too!

**Most regretably Hypothermia (Ian) had a serious incident in his car on the way to Japfest last weekend. I\'m very relieved to report that Ian is absolutely fine, but his car isn\'t - a lot of body panel damage, back suspension and radiator shot. By the time the insurance people have done their bit, the parts are sourced (some custom bits to import) and the repair is done, it\'s highly unlikely Ian will be able to take part. However, he had already booked the day off for Cadwell, so he\'s thinking of coming along anyway, sans RX-8. Ian\'s very handy with his Nikon camera and he\'s most welcome as a passenger in my car.

Bad news Ian. Hope all goes well with the repair. All the best mate and if you feel the need to warm a passenger seat then i\'ll take you out too.

Good idea, I\'ll ask and see what they say!

Am thinking of booking the evening session on the same day if I can\'t get off work so if any of you are staying over I might see you after the session. It\'s not much cheaper than the discounted full day though and for only 3 hours :(
