Ok so as some of you may know i should be drifting the TII soon :wiggle

At the moment its running breather mods and slightly more boost.

I was just wondering what kinda guages to go for. I already have a boost guage (not fitted), and im damn sure i need a water temp guage. Ive heard people mention oil pressure and temperature, are these really necessary?

Also what kind of temperatures and pressures should i be expecting see? And where do i draw the line? Ideally my plan is to get a water temp guage and just stop driving when i hit x degrees C.

On top of that im looking at removing the OMP and running a pre-mix, wondering if anyone has a link to any guides about it, i had a quick look round the site but didn\'t find any guides, just some discussions

awesome cheers :WaveBye

Prof

The stock TII water temp gauge is useless - so get one of those for sure.

Stock Oil pressure gauge is ok, but an oil temp gauge is useful - as if you have a major water leak, the water temp sensor may not pick it up - rising oil temps will give you a chance to save the engine.

As for water temps - depens on what mods have been done, and if a larger rad is used.  With stock rad, water temps can hit 110 after some boost !

Mechanical boost gauge is an excellent idea.

Dont be concerned by water temps hitting 110, remember the system is under pressure so the boiling point increases

I have a nice single dash that contains data logging as well as alarms.

Gives
Speed
RPM
ODO
Water Temp
Oil Temp
Oil Pressure
Inlet Temp
Boost Pressure
Fuel Pressure
Spare Channel

Comes complete with all sensors and could be wired in within a couple of hours! At the moment it is sat in a nice Carbon steering wheel...but could easily mounted in your own wheel

Looking for offers on this :)

cheers for the help prof. Didn\'t realize how usefull oil temp is :D
Think i\'ll get the gauges and have it all set up and then ask more questions.

My car will have mechanical boost gauge, oil temp and wideband O2 :) those seem to be the main ones for anything over stock boost :)

Boost - to see how scared you should be
Oil temp - to check you havn\'t fried the engine whilst going 100mph sideways
Wideband O2 - to check the apex seals are still at the ends of the rotors and not out the back of the exhaust :D
