Heya,

Only noticed recently that when I start my car from cold, it doesnt seem to idle at 1500rpm then gradually go down to 800/850rpm when it warms up.

It now just starts up, and pretty much straight away stays at 800/850.

What would cause this?

the AWS is disabled if the car is started,, and 5th selected,, and other interlock maladies

( like differntial temp signal between rad temp sender,, and water neck unit )

critical limits are -
radiator coolant temp between 15 C and 37 C , ambient above 17 C and transmission neutral
-- on FC,, its also disabled once the ODO has met minimum KM
( ie,, the warmup procedure alters once about 20 000 ( miles ) is on the odo )

also,, in AUS we have two fast warm idle up circuits on the FC
one ,, the ASV and BACV is responsible for the 1500 lift you describe
the other US and aus supplement ( ABSV ) ,, and takes aus and US cars to 3000 rpm on initial start for a 17 second timed period
