How hard is it to get the diff out of a fc! Took me best part of a day, the subframe dropped (after we realised that needed to be done). i will show you some pics when its all done. Has anyone else ever had that many problems????:bandit

Jit

yes I have had the same problems. Forunately I was breaking the whole car so I didnt care and ended up cutting the subframe off!

lee mills

what diff are you replacing it with out of interest

TiddlesRX7

You don\'t have to remove the sub frame, just drop it a bit using a jack. I only know cause JT and his mate dropped the one out of my spare FC earlier in the week.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

Yip i did mine to, i have pics in my project thread, there is 2 little bolts that attach to the centre of the diff, all i can say is it was a git, but while your at it get it blasted and painted.

yeah going to just underseal everthing! No new diffgoing in going to weld it. LoL Quite a few teeth missing was on way out anyways. Will post pics when its all done.

I welded a diff on a BMW 323i I used to rally and did that insitu, as long as you cover as much up as possible and meticulously clean the job down once finished then could you have done this on the FC? Depends on if you have a ramp, welder, etc I suppose.  Mind you on that BMW it was the worse thing I did as I was spinning more on corners but it was only practice before I mastered the new techniques, It does change the handling of corners quite dramatically.

You cant really get to the diff casing bolts so had to take the whole thing out. I know its going to be quite risky in the wet but i plan not to drive it when it rains lol.

Adam fc

is your egi your daily driver or are you going drift samurai on it??

vonrumble

I will use it a bit on hot dry days with no chance of rain lol. All went together last night, skids very well now and the springs have helped loads, will upload the pics etc once missus comes back from holiday with the camera. BTW is anyone going to DWYB at santa pod May 13??? We need to show the nissan boats how its done.
