I have an fd3s, can i leave the gearbox in place when removing the engine, or does it have to be removed as the manual says?

Thanks in advance

Yes, i did mine, for its rebuild, but mine is a manual, i dont know about Auto, if its an Auto box its any different,

RXphil

mines a manual too mate, so did you just unclip the clutch a pull the engine out then?

leon

Unclip the clutch, undo everything else thats holding it in place and pull and swear! you can brace the gearbox with wood or somthing. thats what i did!:yes
I woof in your general direction.

Nice one, ill crack on then. cheers fellas

karl_tate

jack the gearbox up as high as it will go to give clearance.

i also found that the engine mounts fouled the subframe so i just slackened the 3 bolts on each side to give more room.
