From 550 STI to 600 RX7?

Had my STI RA for around 4 years now and always liked the idea of having a big power RX, over the years the RA has gone through the works and is now powered by GT3040R run on a 2.35 Engine.
The car is absolutely manic, however I have now taken up the opportunity to get a Big power RX built. Current planned spec is BIG Street port, T51R Kai etc, hopefully will be running around 1.5 bar of boost.

Now the question is has anyone of a similar spec car carried out any acceleration tests etc, i.e 30-130, 60-100, anything apart from the 1/4?

We carried out extensive testing on the RA with a G Force meter and just interested in comparing results, as the RA will soon be sold and really want to move to something which will be noticeably quicker, I am hoping that the RX7 was the right candidate and does fit the bill perfectly?...

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Theres a few on here with high power rx7\'s, noticibly "Blitzboy" who i think has circa 550bhp @ 1.2bar or so and ran a 10.8 1/4 mile time.

1/4 miles times are not gonna give a fair impression as a fast 4wd gets quick times easily due to the launch and doesnt gauge the outright acceleration.

I do 30-130 in just under 9 seconds, 0-100 6.9 seconds

ive got a friend who has quite a high power impreza and totally stripped out, when i was running around 400bhp he was also around 400bhp, we had a race on a straight road and there was not alot in it, we started at about 40 side by side and he pulled a little on me to start with then i started to pull it back higher up. He is now running around 500bhp with anti lag launch control blah blah blah, ive now got a t04r single tubby which hopefully will see me around 500 @ fly so we will have another race and i will let you know the outcome :Thumbsup!

Yes those figures are with gps timing ,Goodyear F1 GSDS ftw.

The 10.8 quarter was done on my ET streets, road tyres are useless on a drag strip you lose half a second on the launch but you should see higher terminals on road tyres

Kash, I\'ve been lurking around for the past year or so, just keeping an eye on the rotary world of things, and got to say there are some Top RX\'s about.

Those are the figures that are very interesting.

Is that on the T04Z or that T51? and roughly what boost was that at?

That 30-130 is an excellent time , my 30-100 on the STI was 6.5 so would be probably be around the same as that time to 130..

Your 30-130 time would have placed you 3rd in the last MLR competition,:King

Andy F and Tweenie rob were 1st and 2nd wth their Monster car\'s, but 3rd was a 700HP GTR with around 9.5,,,

Need to get some RX7\'s in next year\'s competition...:mmmm

Thats on T51 with boost at 1.15 bar , have not run my 1.3 BAR setting in anger yet.
I run at 1 BAR on the road at the moment nothing gets close
Im hoping to get my 0-100 time to 6 seconds dead on the strip, but only when I stick the cage in will I turn up the boost more :3gears-rh

6 Flat will be an awesome time, sounds like it\'s an awesome setup you have.

Are you running any specific suspension setup for the strip? Or do you just set the back softer on standard coilovers?

Running HKS Drag coilovers like James Willaday who has run a 10.1, so its a proven good setup.
I set them on hard for the road and soft for the strip.
I also have a Petit Launch kit which replaces the standard arms at the rear and a diff brace and replaced the tired bushes with stock items.

How much did you pick up the petit launch kit for?

I\'m probably going to be running 888\'s as well, rather than full out drag radials...
