was also thinking about spraying the bottom half of the car below the black bumped protectors, gun metal gray or black, anyone got any pics of a simular job?

Just one thing, has anyone removed the aerial before on the back? as its a rusty and an hurts my eyes to look at it. lol :Grrr

btw the blue submarine thing, my .... taking nissan owning mates say my car sounds like a dying submarine... they just aint got taste for great sounding cars.

i have drifted a couple of times in other cars, but havent had time or money to get mine ready and finely i do! Been to two dwyb  with mates and just took pictures, this time, \'prays to the rotary gods\' i can drift mine! havent done any steering mods yet, this is just basically a trial to see what i need to get it to spec for my skill level.
as for the wheels yeah just a rattle can job, cleaned, sanded, 2 coats, laquer, job done. Going paint the spares flourecent pink just so i dont get confussed lol. How far you from getting the tubby running????

dthebuk

nice one, so have you done the doughnuts and stuff? I went to the last beginner day with drift racing, and managed to do a few transitions :D

Tbh with the drift day being on the 13th you might aswell just do the small steering mod with a washer, just a thought.

Its getting there, should be getting the clutch in this weekend, then its a case of fitting coilovers welding the diff and getting a bucket. Should be about at some dwyb days in the summer so i guess i\'ll see you there sometime!

yeah man all the best with that, steering mod with a washer??? eh? whats that then :) I will be in need of a bucket seat can see me flying around the dash lol. How much you pay for your coilovers, i was thinking just getting springs i know not as good but im not a millionaire lol.

dthebuk

Quotewe can add that 5° of extra steering angle by shimming tie rods off the steering rack on the FC3S with spacers.  Maximum spacer thickness is 0.30" (thanx to Ho Mastah!), so 1/4" or 6mm is a safe bet.

To shim the tie rods, you\'ll need to remove the tie rods.  Start by popping the tie rod end on the front hubs by removing the cotter pin and castle nut.  Remove the steering boots on both ends of the steering rack.  The steering boots are plastic and secured by a spring clamp on the outside and twisted wire on the inside.  Undo the twisted wire on the insides and slip the spring clamp off; the boot should slip to the outside with a little tugging.  If you have power steering, be prepare for some power steering fluid leaks when the boot is loosened.  You should be able to see the large swivel joint underneath after removing the boot.  The inside part of the joint has a threaded end that is screwed into the steering rack itself.  You\'ll need a large wrench to loosen the tie rod off the steering rack.  Once the tie rod is removed, you can insert the spacer in between the steering rack and the tie rod.  You\'ll need to get the car realigned after you do this mod

don\'t have pics im afraid, that was taken from fc3s pro. Its a cheap mod, if you handy with a spanner then theres no reason not to do it

About £450ish for kei-office coilovers. I co-own the car with a mate, thus paying half for everything which is why i can afford it. The car was a steal at £1000, just lucky i guess!

I did plan on going for springs, but the shocks needed replacing so i thought might aswell go for coilovers.

cheers for the info, might be brave one day and do it. Co sharing a car, great idea share the costs and the pain lol. Have you done the air pump removal on you egi? is it worth it?

dthebuk

i havn\'t done it, but its been done. Id say it is worth it.

What exhaust system do you have on it atm?

half custom/half original no cat. very loud.

dthebuk

you know if its running a custom header? I think (i may be getting confused here) that the EGi\'s have a thermal reactor as well as the cat, which the air pump leads to. If you can replace this and remove the air pump you should see some slight power gains. Saying that, if you car is stupidly loud (like mine once was :D) then it may have already been removed meaning your air pump is doing nothing. brett is the one to ask about this kind of thing though

Thats the thing it was totally original untli got my hands on it. if there is no reason to have it might remove it.
