Saw this on a forecourt, decided to go have a look, it impressed me in places but not in others,

Front bumper seemed to be a slightly different shade to the surrounding panels and the shut lines seemed pretty close, but that may have just been my eyes playing tricks.

REALLY nasty wheels on it, eugh...

HUGE paint mismatch on the rear bumper, fella who came out to sell it to me said it would polish up... AHAHAHAHAH they think i\'m stupid!

Did have a dual exhaust, but god knows what they did to it, just the backbox on the passenger side left, no tips...

Hood has tears,

on both sides!

Wing mirrors had bump strips on both of them, still a bit of paint damage on them

couple of stonechips, and scrapes on the bumper and sides, nothing too major.

Now, the guy that came out to sell me the car said he wasn\'t full time and that he had driven the car a couple of times, you know, regular crap, I asked to see inside and under the bonnet, he said the boss was dealing with a customer and would be out soon, so I had more of a look.

the sills looked pretty good, still paint on them, a bit rusted and a few rust bubbles on the front wings right at the bottom by the door, on both sides. under the body was a bit more rust, again, not too bad but may become a problem.

So there i was, waiting for 15 minutes for the boss to come out and open her up, he never did so I decided to leave, never did get the hood down or see the engine bay, with regards to the mismatched bumpers, I had a look under them and couldnt see any damage behind them on the chassis or any other parts under there.

They are selling for £3495, personally, for 52,000 miles, (close to needing a rebuild methinks), the mismatched paintwork, the rust and the damage, it is vastly overpriced, by at LEAST £1k, before bartering it down.

If anyone is planning on buying soon I hope this helps you out, if not, at least we know where one more is for the FC register!

Thanks.

Thats only done half its life if its been looked after.  You are right not worth the price and maybe only £2500 tops for what needs to be done if it is indeed genuine miles.
Exhausts are standard mazda but tips will be no problem but the roof is in the final stages of ripping completely in those areas and can not be fixed. it will still be waterproof though for a fair bit longer.
usually if one item is well faded then other panels will be as well so i might even argue that its had a replacement bumper at some stage. it can be polished out but only for a short while and soon go back to its usual faded self again very soon.

For that price then i would expect stainless exhaust, good hood and almost excellent bodywork with no rust. Think its just a garage that sees the low mileage and really does not know what they are selling.....maybe.

Nah, they knew nothing, even when they saw my RX7 they didn\'t seem to care that I was interested in their car

used car salesmen are the skum of the earth, i would never buy of a forecourt new or used!
