MOT booked for Friday. What are the chances of this passing?- I have just fitted the LED bar as a rear foggy above the number plate. Positioning is fine - guess I\'ll have to wait and see!
Also, I\'ve used a Mazda foglight switch in one of the blank positions by the handbrake and wired it so the light in it works as a telltale - but it\'s a bit dim. Anyone else done similar and been ok for MOT?

this should point you in the right direction

Hi Grinder. I\'d read all that so am happy with the lamp position. Now, the tell tale on the switch does work - it just ain\'t very bright as it\'s the indicator light built into the switch itself. I guess I\'ll be posting my finding back here on Friday after the test :)

Yep, that\'s the one. I\'m not sure but I think it was you who came across this on the Lancer register???

I\'m pretty happy with the place I\'ve put it. As there\'s not much to stick on there I made a small mounting bracket out of an old stereo mounting cage. The light is stuck onto that using some more double sided sticky stuff as the two little pads on it are pretty pathetic. The bracket slips in above the bottom edge of the bumper (just above the light) and is also stuck to the top of the number plate mount.

If this description isn\'t very clear (which I don\'t think it is!) then I\'ll take a close up pic showing how I\'ve done it.

Forgot to ask - what do you think of the roofrack?

It\'s a rack on the Mitsubishi Delica I\'ve got in front of the car.
The wire is thee charging up the dry cell power packs in the car as this one has a zero emission electric motor. It does 0-60 in like 30 seconds and maxes out at 65 but hey ho. The exhaust is purely there for effect.

when i bought mine it had the centre brake light wired up to a seperate switch in the front, only usable when headlights are on ( like it should) but the brake light still works as normal when not being used as foglight.

daneh, i\'ve got the same (central brake light wired up to switch in the front), but it isn\'t used as a brake light.

any idea how i can get mine to function as a brake light aswell? i\'m a complete novice when it comes to car electrics

cheers

Just passed MOT today after a two seconds umming and ahhing with that LED bar as a foggy. I ended up putting an LED in the centre console in the recess that the fog switch is in as the switch illumination was way too dim.

There is a way to wire it so it works as a brake light unless you turn the foggy on. Involves using a relay but pretty simple as all the wiring is accessible by removing the centre panel above the light. You should be able to find the wiring insruction by searching this here forum. If I come across it I\'ll let ye know.
