It will come to a point when you can´t select gears properly. It should last a while...but how long has it been on its way out for? When it gets to this point, you will start grinding syncros.

stupid question mode on (AKA Si\'s monopoly http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008\' target=\'_blank\'>http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_10_5.gif\' border=0>) is it less potentially damaging when travelling either at very slow speeds or at a standstill at lights etc to select neutral & not use clutch at all & cruise slowly out of gear or put handbrake on? Just wondered as i\'ve been doing it more in the mondeo when stuck in traffic rather than sitting there with the clutch down but was trying to work out which would do more damage.....

Hi Graham
My turbo II had bump steer problems with stock suspension, Do you find it follows the ruts in the road quite severly? I found that a good matched set of tyres with a slightly higher ratio side wall,  45 instead of 40\'s helped a lot.

It might be worth having it 4 wheel aligned, you cant just have the front tracked as the backs may need adjusting, if you have it tracked normally, they set the front with the backs, if they are wrong then fronts will be wrong.

How many miles has it done? it may be a combination of the above and some worn out bearings, steering rack and bushes etc.

Also TII have some sort of anti camber set up on the back, you can by replacement bushes which eliminate this, it works well when its new but once worn, it gets a bit fluffy. I know tim at RX motors has fitted some in the past.

If you think your clutch may need replacing in the near future then dont replace your thrust bearing as most clutch kits come with a new one and you wont pay any fitting (come off with the old clutch) It should rattle for quite a while before wearing out completely.

Are you sure that the bucking is the plugs? It might be tuning depending on what ECU you have.  If the idle control valve has been blanked off then that may cause it.

400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Christ Tony do you have a couple of RX7 data banks in your head!

Thanks for the info,

I have fully adjustable camber suspension so I think it may still be set up in \'drift mode\'

Its done quite a few miles but i think the wheels suspension have been replaced pretty recently.

I am presuming the plugs and leads need changing as it idles very lumpy and I can here and feel a slight miss below 3000 rpm, as the idle control valve I have no idea what to look for.

I may be having the clutch looked at soon so i will soon find out.  its the usual problem that there are no garages near me willing to do to much to it because its different.  I don\'t even have the time to sort out the speedo.

It hasn\'t been tuned for UK use as its a fresh import thats also on my list.

Pip at WGT does a 4 wheel laser check for £70. It my seem a lot but he isn\'t \'quickfit\' he cecks everything, camber castor, the lot.
