I went to Halfords and had white paint prepared in a can for me to re-spray a small bit
“ 1 inch long “ of the bottom part of my 99 spec lip

I sprayed 2 coats today

What grade sand paper do I use to polish the paint or do I use something else?

I thought sand paper with plenty of water does the job.

usually use as fine a grade as poss, wet and dry 1200 or higher if you can find it with plenty of water, then use more water. Basically sand it untill you cannot see any blemishes or scratches before doing your final top coat.
:Laugh LOL

After you flatten the paint with wet and dry sand paper you need to use a finishing polish to bring back the gloss finish,

slingo

i would sand the base coat to lose the lip with a 1200,then apply clear coat but dont worry about loading it up to much, wait a week after clear coat and 1200 that to with plenty of water then get a good compound to polish it up

Thanks for the above

What is the finishing polish called?  Can I get it at Halfords, I thought that the paint looked a tad dull

Do I need to wait a week for the paint to really dry or is a day fine?
