Hi guys, I need some help with my FC, I went to Santapod today and got a slower time than previously due to the fact that I couldn\'t get the power down.

Previously I ran a 14.8 on a stock system and bad tyres, that was before all mods, so that would have been running at about 190-200ish, at the rolling road with the new intercooler and fuel pump it was running at 210bhp, its now got a boost controller and its MUCH more powerful, so perhaps 220-230ish?

Basically the rears were down to 28psi, im running Eagle F1s that weren\'t that warm, but it was a warm track. I was also running with the spare wheel and 2/3 tank of fuel, so basically as much weight over the back as I could lol. Im also running comedy stock suspension which is really soft, so good for launches apparently :(

My best time today was a useless 15.3 :( my worst today was 24.08, which was when I spun the wheels in all 5 gears down the whole lengh of the track :(

Basically I need some help to be able to get more grip as I am getting an amazing exhaust system from JM Garage next weekend which will remove the centre cat I seem to still be running, meaning a nice big lump of extra power freed up lol at the moment I can\'t put down the power as it is!

How much is a line lock kit for burnouts? are there any other products that could help?

Thanks everyone :)

gat some drag radials and drop the pressure even more. line locks arent very expensive although im sure ive read somewhere that doing burnouts on street tyres is pointless. what was your 60ft times

JM Garage is taking my exhaust when the new one is made, Im pretty sure its a centre cat as when it was up in the air for the MOT the \'midbox\' was sooo small and my exhaust is quite quiet, plus my emissions were 0.45% CO lol so im guessing thats a cat lol someone has just put in the centre cat and taken out the cat on the downpipe with a nice crush bent straw for an exhaust *sigh*

I might just frame that time slip lol its got an ET MPH of about 60mph lol :rollin

line lock is pointless for road tyres, they are about £70 ish for an electronic one plus you need the brake lines made up if you cant do it yourself.    With 210 HP you will never spin the wheels all the way up the strip, with 460 hp i had traction in 3rd with road tyres.  Are you sure your clutch wasnt slipping, your clutch may feel fine but when given some stick it gets hot instantly and the clutch never lands properly.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

humm the centre cat is HUGE so thats pretty confusing ??

I\'d also get the tyres down to 24 psi - or even towards 20 on the rears - and maybe a bit more up front.  I find Eagle F1\'s are grippy on a road surface, but unless you\'ve got some warmth in them, they don\'t grip so much on the strip.

Given the way you launch off in 1st and 2nd, I\'d say clutch is a good place to look as well.

Might be time to drop in the sprung 6 puck ACT clutch then? lol

The centre \'midbox\' is small when I looked at it and I was wondering how such a small \'midbox\' could reduce the noise so much, meaning that the small \'midbox\' must be a cat lol

24.08 thats good man!! were u going in reverse..? lol

Hehe :) its actually quite impressive lol that was one of my first runs down the track, was quite cold and I recon it was coupled with cold tyres, higher boost and seeminly a slipping clutch lol I launched from 3k revs, and just kinda sat there, changed gear, moved a bit, then tried the next gear and so on lol

Later in the day when I was launching from 2k revs it would break traction 1st to 2nd, that was after I dropped the boost between 3k and 4k revs, sounds like I need some track tyres to bring along :)

Sticky tyres will just make your clutch slip more, if you were spinning the wheels that much a turbo 2 will hop and you would have clouds of smoke, I\'d definately say clutch

Yeah at 3K you should have a touch of wheel spin and a bit of juddering but you would be moving forward all the time. And I can\'t spin the wheels in all the gears up the strip even if I tried. I\'d defo say clutch mate.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)
