hey peeps just got my first rotary last night to be honest i rushed into it a bit had trouble finding a series 2 ended up buying one from pistonheads i guess a few people would have seen it on there.ill put some pics up later it was the black one that was on there for a while in leister.

Anyways drove it back to london last night and it made it! Not sure how but it did.

bodywork isnt too bad but the motor seems to have had it.
i opened up the airbox to find oil everywhere so not quite sure what the problem is there. Seems to be lacking alot of power too.
Engine mounts looked ok but the engine still moves alot and gear stick shakes like *uck.

So i wanted to know how many people on here have a series 2 and how many have changed to a turbo 13b if so how much of a job was it?
My aim is for a single turbo 13b but not sure if it will \'\'drop straight in\'\' or not.

Hi Dan and welcome to Mazdarotaryclub,

I think your find from memory that whilst your engine  has mounts right up the front and a Turbo lump has them in the middle, however I think you will find that you can use the front timing chest and relavent parts from your engine and swap them onto the Turbo lump to make it an easy install,

Hope this helps,

BTW if you look at the top of the opening page you will find we have a meeting coming up at Brooklands which is just outside London, this would give you the oppertunaty to come and meet members of MRC in person
All the best Clive

Greetings Dan. Do you mean the B Reg that was on Pistonheads?
If so it\'s a 1st Generation Series 3, of which I know of about 100. I think your car is a 1984?
There\'s also about 32 1st Gen Series 2\'s and 10 1st Gen Series 1\'s.

You need to use the search facility now, to search under \'FDDreamer\'. You\'ll find a post saying \'my car wont start\'. Read in there - it\'s your car I think with oil in the air filter. Sounds like it never got sorted what it was.

The 13b has been fitted to a handful of 1st Gens (I think about 5 or 6). Shaun (Shaunwil) and Mark (MKP 490P) would be good men to talk to since they take on allsorts of projects and I think Shaun is planning the same thing??
If your car is actually a 2nd Gen from Pistonheads (1986 onwards) then still a big welcome from all of us.

Meets are on the opening page as you log in. Don\'t get to hardly anything myself as I\'m a boring old git, watching the world through my laptop - See those curtains twitching in the corner of your screen - That\'s me.
At least there\'s a photo album posted up for you in FDDreamer\'s posts Dan.:wave

Welcome Aboard :D

The 13b conversion isn\'t too bad. Bit of a big job but I was told it was the better option when the engine is on its last legs. Bits are easier to get hold of. There is a list of parts you need and are available from quite a few tuners, like the GSLE Sump.

There is a lot of literature on rx7club and ausrotary about doing the conversion. If you get a 13b make sure its a from a 2nd gen TII then if you want a turbo later on.

Oh, and sorry to those Racers I didn\'t mention, Kiwimazda, Stacy, anyone I forgot on here, plus those oldtimers on t\'other club. They all know a fantastic amount about FB conversions.
