turbo problems...

im not sure they are working as they should....

when in gear it boosts pretty early max boost im getting is 0.5kg/cm which im quiet sure what that is in psi, however im getting no second turbo kick... i get a steady pull from around 1500rpm up hitting max boost by 2500 latest and it gets to 4k and seems to not pull so hard, still pulls but defo no second kick...

now i thought it might be non sequential but been told that would boost higher up....

how im thinking maybe solenoids are dead? or maybe rats nest is leaking or not settup right??? when i look at the uim you can see part of the rats nest at the front of the engine and there is 1 nipple sticking up with no pipe on it, and there is a pipe that seems to have part of a filter or a filter on the end but it doesnt go anywhere... is that right???

thinking about going non sequential as that solves the probs with the solenoids doesnt it?? or am i wrong???

PLEASE help, it just doesnt feel like its as quick as it should do!

sounds like the pipe going to your green one way valve has come off. just next to the alternator there should be a black box with 2 pipes going into it. One of those pipes should go into the green one way valve and then into another pipe...if its come off or the one way valve has split or become 2 way (you can tell by looking at it or trying to blow into it both ways - it should only blow one way) then you get the symptoms u described

funny thing is i cant remember seeing a box there :S will have a look in the morning and take some pics im guessing this is gonna be harder than expected lol!

been out and had a look... no air tank or black box on it.... in this pic you can see the pipe with no hose on it and the black filter part ?

does this mean im running non sequential??? if so shouldnt it be running more than 0.5kg/cm??? which is less than half a bar?? just gonna go check under the car to see if the wastegate is held open or not... i saw from some posts it should be?

any other ideas??? please help lol

I dont know what the crack is with that, 0.5kgcm2 is around 0.7 bar (the standard spring rate for the turbo\'s wastegate.) Id check to see if you have any split pipes connecting to the wastegate etc as for the tank i dont know:confused:

seems to be a few pipes blocked up... im wondering if someone has converted it to non sequential?? im just going out to buy a load of hose and im gonna take the mani off and re do the rats nest... and will check to see if the wastegate is held open... wondering if someone has done the pikey non sequential mod... it just doesnt seem to be as fast as i thought it should... maybe its been done but only 1 turbo is spinning up... i dunno! ....ing me off though lol!

is there a rats nest simplification you can do? im sure i saw someone mention it?

it has been set up to run non sequential, which is another reason why it was so loud lol.

Think it has been done correctly, actuator arm has been tied etc

If i remember rightly the guy i bought it from said it had been done at RXmotors when it had been rebuilt?

its not all of a sudden it just seems not as fast as it should, some times its REALLY fast, others its slow lol.... maybe its just me i just thought it should be running more boost lol, i had the cat re fitted and took the air pump off... im wondering if the cat is clogged up or something... really need to get a silenced mid pipe lol, thinking i might put the decat back on and see if that makes a diff i know of another pretty standard rex running non sequential might get him to take me for a spin and see if there is a difference...
