Hey guys, I am thinking of getting a roll cage at some point in the future, so I thought I would ask now to see where everyone got their roll cages from/where people have heard got things.

I am thinking about a full cage, not an 15,000 point cage, but more than a 1/2 cage lol

Custom cages can do you one but you\'d have send them an email to get full quote as they don\'t list one.

Cusco do one for the FC but i\'d have to wait until tomorrow to get you a price. Can\'t remember whether or not they do a full & a half.

Theres NO FIA/MSA/Drift(BDC/EDC) off the shelf solution for the FC...

My personal recomendation is with a company off of the Driftworks forum.. the chap Nick (called gtirtrack on the forum) is great and will do his best to work around your timeframe etc.. he also charges per point/bar etc so there will be a flat rate then \'extras\' so if you want a simple solution he can do that too..

soon as mine is back I\'ll throw you a  few pic.. once I get round to doing my build thread it will be on there too.

cheers
Phil

you going bolt in or weld in?

also if your getting a cage does this mean your taking the fc up to 500bhp :D.....or makiing it go round corners :D

I have a 7point Cusco through dash in mine..
Lovely cage but a bit restrictive if your 6ft 2"

AtomicRex

We are in the process of getting one made. It would be £605 for the cage, less club discount, and a fitting charge of £800.

Drop me an email if you want this sorting.

It will be the same as our multipoint cage we do for the FD here.

dont forget that a cage will make it harder for you to find insurance.. well.. if not harder then will be more $$$
2 doritos on a stick woohoo :rollin

To be honest I wouldn\'t advocate running a cage on the road anyway.  As much as I would love to sell a cage, Id rather it was used for the correct purpose.

You need to run a bucket seat and a harness if you run a cage.  This isn\'t overly practical for the road, and if you are running without your harnesses tight and crash the evil hand of irony will deal a fatal blow as you smack your head on the cage bars.

Anyway...that said, for a trackday car...an absolute must...strengths the car and allows the suspension to work properly without suffering from Chassis Flex  Plus in the off chance you run out of tallent...you have the protection you need to walk away from it.

Not as much as you\'d think, adding a cage to my PS13 added just £40 to the premium.

mine was free on my insurance. :) and that IS declared before anyone says it!

Weld in... I took Atomicrex\'s advice and went the weld-in route for the FC over the bolt-in I had for the S14 previously.
I just went with te cheapest.. I was able to get a discount/sponsorship deal with Nick so did a graphics on the site/car deal.. thats why I went with him.. else the car would be on its way to Atomic Rex. :)

As for the power.. I got something planned.. its just down to when/if/how much the S14 sells for.

the qu was actually aimed at mitch, as his fc is aimed at the strip over the track :Giggle

no worries though, your answer was quite useful :D
saw your s14 for sale on dw, so what level you drifting at?

heres what was in mine, only a half cage and still fits the standard seats in. You hardly notice its there. This is the same as for the coupes apart from the rear supports, in this one are shorter as its a cab.

Hmm that cage looks good, where did you find it?

pdtaylor18

in the car when i purchased it. Maybe selling to Neil but need to get the funds first from him. It is a good cage as its just not in yer face, it\'ll still do its job though if needed.
