The car is hunting from about 850rpm to 1500rpm when on idle. Any reason why this would be?

I noticed the connection on the BOV is very bad and a part of it has been siliconed in the past. Could this be drawing air in causing the hunting?

thanks for any help offered!!

any sort of air leak will cause it to hunt, also the Apexi is probably trying to self learn the idle again, follow the apexi idle setup procedure as if you plugged in the ECU for the first time I think its in one of the technical stickies

mine does exactally the same thing but it eventually sorts its self and idles normally, i was told it could be a faulty tps sensor? could it be that?

Is it only hunting when the car is cold. If you leave it and the oil warms up does it still hunt ? Mine does this sometimes, is fine when warm though.

Air leak or TPS (Throttle position sensor).
