LSD on 79 m.y. and 13B reconize

Hi everyone,
I\'ve two question for you

I\'ve a Rx-7 1979/80 model year with 13B swap, bought in Italy, but the ex owner doesn\'t reconizie his engine... I know that there were a lot of kind o 13B engine but, with the engine up on the car, how I could fine the exct model?

Other question: my car have rear drum and (I suppose) no LSD like all the first gen pre restyling... I could put a rear end with disc and LSD from a 81-> model? It\'s expensive or difficult?

As for the LSD swop, the american site RX7Club.com has a lot of info. They call them pumpkins and they seem to swop them into the earlier cars quite a lot.
I don\'t think we had any LSD\'s on UK 1st Generations in standard form?? Is that right anyone?

I could be wrong but don\'t 12a turbo\'s come with lsd?

Thanks all for information. Tomorrow I try to make photo\'s of the engine bay.

If I remember well, Brian Long on his book says that all the european restyling with rear disc will have the LSD... My Blue seems to have it, in fact in the very small corner the rear interion whell doesn\'t run :driving

Sure the 1984 -> that are the same chassis (suspension, drivetrain...) like 12A Turbo and 13B USA.

Could be Pete, Thanks, I didn\'t think of factory turbo cars. Elford might well have fitted an LSD.

As Pete says above, perhaps the UK turbo cars might have been fitted with LSD, but I\'m still fairly sure that all the stock late FB\'s with rear discs (like mine - 10 cars from the end of UK production) were not.

1st gen 13b GSL\'s in the states had an lsd only.

i have just got a mazdaspeed lsd unit for mine shipped it from japan but you can get them from the US as has been mentioned above, you can also get units to fit your earlier housing but you may as well upgrade to rear discs too

Is that hose really touching the header, or is it an optical illusion?

The header where the Holley is put on? The intake of it have the classical L config for aspiration into the engine, and over the racing beat iron exaust.
There\'s the lens in the page, could you see bigger. I never see a 13B engine, the seller told me was for marine... Could be possibile? In fact, it have a very good lower torque
