Oh yes, Its more the case of selling my fto that is stopping me from getting my rex ! Had someone come to look today and he made me an offer. He has gone away to see how much his insurance is. Hopefully if all goes well it could be about two weeks before i get into a rex ! The one i have found is really good and i think is a barging, but i\'m staying quiet so nobody else beats me to it ;) Would really love to have it by JAE and meet everybody !

Just thought i\'d keep you up to date on the rex. I\'ve finally sold my fto :D and have put a deposit down on the rex 7 i was asking about :3gears-lh . The big question is what are the best gizmos to put on my new pride and joy (when i get it) to check that everything is running ok. I\'m thinking of installing a oil pressure gauge and a boost gauge in a pillar pod. Do i need anything else like a turbo timer or something to limit the revs until its properly warmed up is a good idea ?

Hopefully if all goes to plan (and i get my finger out) i\'ll try and get to the NW meet in my rex on monday night, but i will be pushing it to get everything sorted.

Thats good news Shaun,

in my car i have the oil pressure gauge, boost gauge, exhaust gauge and the power fc setup for water temp, air intake temp, revs, speed, knock etc and find that in rex these are quite important as the water temp rises quite a bit when in ques or while stopped.

The North west meets quite cool they normally get around 6 rx\'s there so you should have someone to talk to, been up once with Scoobi Si to meet a few of the other guys, they\'re all ok apart from that Grinder fella ! thinks he knows it all:rolleyes:  give him a slap from me:rollin :rollin :rollin

yeah cheers gurj :) ( ya big pansie )

all sounds good though shaun - hope to see you at the meet - that would be a good start into rx\'7s for you :)

so when you picking the car up ???

gizmo\'s .. err not sure about FD\'s

but defo get a

1 - Boost Gauge
2 - Oil Temp Gauge - make sure its warm before booting it
3 - Oil Pressure - if youve got non , it aint moving

thats what i would start with - after decent alarm and service ( if its not had that already )

the best way not to rev it until its warm is be in contol of the loud pedal - dont boot it until you are SURE the oil is warm - not sure how long that takes - but its not 10 metres from leaving the drive way !!

and make sure you let the car cool down before turning it off ( a few mins usually does it ) - it just lets the turbo cool down first ( which is what the turbo timer does - but some interesting things about them and insurance )

Where is the best place to get an alarm fitted to a rx7, anybody know any companies of merit ?

Cheers for the info

Not really sure, just the usual policy with the rx7 garaged on min miles. They quoted me 550 a while back and i was pleased with that !

I just hope its Dry tommorrow when i pick it up !:D
