After reading quite a bit of these forums I\'ve still got a few questions regarding FDs...

What\'s the standard ground clearance on an FD and what the lowest object this is measured from is?

Is the standard fuel tank capacity 76 litres?  How much have you got left when the red light comes on?

What\'s the difference between 8bit and 16bit ECU systems and is it worth (what\'s involved in) upgrading 8bit systems?

I\'ve seen lots of grumbles about the stock water temperature guage.  Is this a problem with the sensor or the guage?
Can you get a decent/more accurate replacement that fits in the stock hole in the dash?

Cheers,
JT

Update: found two answers.

Fuel tank is 76 litres. (Don\'t know about red light amount.)
Standard minimum ground clearance is 135mm (unladen).

It\'s not worth trying to upgrade the ecu to an oem 16bit just fit an apexi pfc there 16bit anyway.
Nothing wrong with the oem water temp gauge. oem gauge are never any use in any car other than to tell you that you\'ve over heated. But you can fit an aftermarket one.

the stock water gauge...

i didnt believe it was that unreliable, untill i fitted a water temp gauge! the stock dash gauge will show mid way from anywhere from 30degrees c to 90 degrees c it doesnt budge, it just sits there...

there is a mod you can do to the stock gauge but it seems alot of hassle, you can also remove the stock gauge and stick a 52mm gauge in the hole that u remove it from on the dash...

or you can keep the stock one for a laugh and fit aftermarket ones like i have on the dash like this

Or if you dont want gauges everywhere, buy an apexi power fc, and use the built in digital gauge on the commander
