Waddock\'s RX7

Hi just thought I would post a few pics of my RX7, hope you like it.

I treated it to a new set of bushes all round and Tein HA suspension.

Here is the REX just after getting back from Carl @ Hayward Rotary. He fixed an issue with my turbos and added/mapped a Apexi PFC. It looks a little pink here as the paint has faded badly with age.

Here my bro and his mate Ben tart the car up with some vinyl wrapping. Makes the thing look like new! It is really amazing what a difference it made and all done in one saturday!

The wheels looked rubbish, the paint was all coming away and there was some horrible bubles where it was lifting away.

After 3 hours of sanding, several layers of primer, paint and laquer they look like new!

End result, a fairly quick rex with a shiny coat! Good enough for a trip to the ring.....

Now I am off to Bedford Autrodrome in the morning to see if I can get on the track! Hope it looks and goes well on Sunday! :Thumbsup!

wow. that looks quite good.. cheaper than a respray..?
i got pink rex so think i am eligible for a wrap lol
how much is a full wrap if u dont mind me asking??
im guessing ur bro is part of wrapfx??

similar price to a cheap respray i think, but pink paint is fixable!! get your car mopped over and cut back with some polish then sealed and waxed propperly... i had a pink 200 i got a mop and spent a day doing it and the paint was a deep shiney red!

that vinyl is amazing!! Im guessing it gives quite a bit of rust protection too?

Looks ace, id suggest wider wheels, negative camber and stretched tyres tho

not sure if i like the silver part on the wrap but its personal i guess.

so is it a complete wrap then??

it\'s all great, untill the vinyl starts to shrink & peal

Then when you remove it you have all the mess of glue residue to clean off.

Must say though, I do like the look of it! What vinyl was used matey? I\'m in the sign trade myself so would be interesting if they used a Std 7yr vinyl or if there is another product they use for wraping??

I do wrapping for a living and it shouldnt shrink and peel if you do it properly. its all in the prep. shouldnt leave that much glue. so if anyone wants a wrap?

what grade vinyl do you use eddi?? just out of curiosity.

avery 9000 in single colour vinyl, or if its a print then we use a solvent ink printer and print onto white cast vinyl( mpi1900) with a clear cast laminate.

I have to say you have achieved something quite impressive there, you have managed to make an rx7 look like an mx5! :Hammer

Not my cup of tea at all, the colours exagerrate the wrong aspects of the cars shape and those silver stripes... sorry.

Still, world would be a boring place if everyone liked the same things, i\'m sure its a nicely done job and if you like it, that\'s cool.
