Prety much as the title says. I\'ve got a UK FC TII and i think i\'m going to get hold of some JDM running lights to replace my "flash to pass" light ports.

I think the JDM FC\'s headlights pop up to flash dont they? How could i get my UK FC doing that?:3Confused

Cheers guys!

Right then, i got my little diode thingey through the post today and i had a little fiddle with it. Tried bridging various wires on both the headlight switch and indicator/flash multiplugs and wasn\'t able to get any joy when pullin\' back on the flash stalk.

So if anyone is a wizz with FC electrics and wants to dish out advice to a hapless fool, please by all means bestow upon me! Lol!

I\'m thinking it could be an idea to try and link the flash stalk and the "pop your lights up to wash them" switch. NO idea how those two could be sucsefully marryed together though.:2Confused

Thanks in advance guys!:god

supposedly there is a relay behind the glove box that you can remove - this should make it work as you want it to ( there is a post by Prof about it somewhere !! )

you might need to do some serious rewiring of stuff - as im sure that the light switches are different aswell

what i get on my JDM is

Sidelights - Lights down and off - and a side light on in the indicators
Dipped Beam - light up and light ons
Full Beam - lights up and on
Flash - Lights raise , flash and then lower

what you could prob do is :

1 - read the factory wiring diagram and work out what relay does what ( i did this took an age )
2 - bridge the connection that comes live when you hit full beam and bridge this to the light motors

there is a 14 connector ( or summat like that ) that is behind the light switch - each pin does various things like putting the lights up with power ( and auto down when you remove power - i think - not sure if it needs power to drop them ??? ) and then certain pins control side lights dipped and main etc...

do all you need to do is find the one that powers the motors and bridge power to this

all this is only needed if the relay pulling trick doesnt work !

As Grinder said - try those links.

I suspect if you got hold of a JDM light switch that would also do what you want - but you\'d probably have to remove the dip/dim relay behind the glovebox - it\'s grey - about 2x2x1 and has 6 connectors in it.  If you unplug it the lights default back to JDM/US operating mode and won\'t pop up on just sidelights with the engine running.

ask the questions and the answers will come :D :D

i spent hours messing with my lights - it was a knightmare - but it all worked out ok in the end !

i do prefer the JDM style with the flash to pass where the lights raise and i love the side lights coming thru the FTP lense - keeps the sleek look :D

You could disconnect the motors and then attach a length of string to each headlight - that way you could raise and lower them as much as you like! :Giggle

Well i found that grey box relay behind the glove box. removed it and as explained my headlights dont flip open - when i have ignition either on or off - with sidelights only selected.

Which is fine, we\'re half way there! Lol!

So i guess its now a case of

A) finding a JDM or USDM headlight switch - which i think is prob unneceasery

or

B) just finding which of the pins on the headlight switch multiblocks controls movement of headlights up/down and highbeam "flash" and then pluming them all into the "flash" stalk?

Its a pain i cant read wiring diagrams at all! It\'s like sheet music! May as well be hyrogliphics! Lol!

Thanks again though i\'ll trawl through the links and figure it out

perfect timing with this thread, i just picked up my fc, and hate that the lights pop up for sidelights! at least i know what to do with my day tomorrow :)
