Quick question, I had my oil changed during the last service and 15W/40 mineral oil is quoted on the invoice, I need to get some spare top up oil, is this stuff okay to use on an FD?

If not can someone point me in the direction of when I can get the correct stuff?

I do have some mineral oil left over from the last change but its a different grade (10W30), I\'m guessing its not safe to mix oil grades?

Cheers,

Phil.

If its the Halfords stuff then yes it will be fine, some have no choice but to use that stuff. Its mineral oil and although 10w30 is whats in the book but dependent upon the outside temps it can range from a 5W-30 if you live in Iceland to a 10w-30 which suits us generally but it also has a 20w-40 which is for the temp ranges -10 upwards.  As for mixing the oils then as a rule I tend not to mix but its not going to harm it if its all you have.
