I need a new battery and would appreciate your thoughts on what is the best to buy that will give max. cranking capacity for the FD.

I dont really want to spend over the £100 mark, but what i do want is a battery with enough guts if you know what i mean.

Thanks, and Merry Christmas for tomorrow:Santa:Santa!!!

Get a Calcium based battery as they have very good amperage! for under 100, Gel type are well over 100.
I got a nice big one from Halfords as its relocated now cost me £80, it cranks forever as I need it due to my big ports

Stock position, or in the boot?

If in the boot I\'d not settle for anything less than a sealed gel battery for safetey reasons.

Otherwise, take a look at the Westco MX5 battery that mx5parts sell :)

Standard position.

Blitz, can you tell me which model battery you got from Halfords?

Had to get a battery for my Alfa 147 yesterday - Halfords £96 and £104 depending on warranty - Partco £62 same amps and 3 year warranty.

Also got a new one for the FD last week - Yuasa Pro - 3 year warranty £56 from an Aberdeen company called Autosave.

Pays to shop around - Halfords is not cheap

What about Optima and Bosch batteries, Varta etc. Im really after a std fit battery with a CCA higher than 600.

Mazdarotaryparts

Hi Ash and a happy Christmas to you for tomorrow as well,

Not cheap but we sell a Bosch battery and to get max power we go for the RX-8 battery which fits a standard FD tray but is 30mm longer, same hight, same width but more power with a Specification of 70AH with 630Amp Cold Cranking Power EN.

Have a look around at other companys and maybe our price can be bettered toi get it under £100 as unfortunaly we don\'t by enough from our supplier to get good rates for these which means we have no deals to pass on,
