Well It finally happened. The classic wet round-a-bout into fence trick. Was quite lucky actually only hit one corner resulting in the need for a new front wing,Bumper and a tyre. Could have been a lot worse really. I wasn\'t speeding or anything and I think thats what saved me in the end. The car still drives fine so I\'m pretty sure there isn\'t any structural damage (well maybe a bit to my pride!).
Anyway I\'ve been up to my doner car in an attempt to get the bumper and wing off it. The wing is nearly off except a couple of bolts that are really hard to get too but I can\'t seem to get the bumper off. I\'ve undone all the bolts along the top and bottom of it. but it won\'t seem to shift. I\'ve run out of daylight now so have given up for the day but if anyone can help, It would be welcomed with open arms. Oh and If anyone has a really cheep passenger side wing for sale that would be good too as the one on my doner car is only a tempory fix as its all dented.
Heres a pic of the damage

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

There are some bolts in the wing - 3 of them if I recall correctly - you\'ll have to take the wheel arch liner out to get at them.  They hold the side of the bumper on - also 2 right in the corner at the top.

Yeah they\'re the little buggers! Must be just them holding it on now. Cheers Prof.

Ouch!! join the club :( - i came off a R-a-B and hit a fence in my FD last year... only problem was that i slid on wet grass into a 60mph sign. it\'s suprising how much damage you can do at 20mph!
Glad your OK and the damange is not too bad - hope it gets fixed soon!

bloody hell matey :(

how fast do you reckon the impact was ??

and looks like the expensive bit survived ( the splitter !! )

whats wrong with the tyre ?? it looks "up" ??

so you are looking for

1 - wing
2 - bumper
3 - FTP lense
4 - Indicators

not toooooooooo bad i suppose

the angle of impact doesnt look obvious .. very strange to look at the bumper ??

at least you walked away - and thats the important bit buddy :D

Hope its only cosmetic! And at least your alright!

im sure it wont cost too much to fix if you can find some second hand bits on here, or its a good excuse to get a aftermarket bumper and some nice wide arches :Giggle

I don\'t know really mate. When I spun it was probably about 30mph (2nd gear), At impact around 20mph I would say. managed to scrub some of the speed off. Might even have been less (it happened so fast \'m not sure)
There were 2 impacts on the one corner which is probably why its pushed in as far as it is. The rear tyre had 2 small cuts in it so needs replacing.
I have FTP lenses (glad I didn\'t sell them now!) I have indicators and a headlight so should be ok for that side of things.
Still it could have been so much worse (at least thats what I keep telling myself)

Also add some Goodyear Eagle F1s to the list of things you need to change :) They don\'t cost much on the stock TII rims :) the grip level is much much better with them, check out the prices at camskill.co.uk

TiddlesRX7

Not a bad price, but what are they like in the wet with that tread pattern?

You need to pull the front bumper forward about 2" to get the wing out. There is one bolt in the middle in the door shut.Soon be fixed.
