hi all,

after a long absence i have some cash saved for another rx7(about the 3rd attempt lol ), this time im doing what i shoulda done before, go for a 2nd gen...i think, possibly a 1st gen, but im keeping clear of those common 3rd gens ;)

i dont have a massive amount of cash to spend tho, but within my budget ive found a some turbo 2s, some 2nd gen n/a\'s and a couple of 1st gens too.

it\'ll be a daily driver, between my motorbikes, and mountain bikes. so plenty of back up there :yes

so hello everyone :WaveBye

well it if your looking to modify the car for more power, your best option is TII.

Yeah there are a few Gen 2\'s for sale on here at the moment. Some for not a lot of money at all. Think that\'ll take it to 3 Gen 2\'s in or around the Glasgow area.
I don\'t need to upgrade my stock turbo to beat your ass!

Get your finger out, get it on the road and start driving it then!!! (B.Martin 25/2/12)

thanks guys

my budget is err negotiable, but i dont want to go over the 1k mark.

but there is some nice cars at the top end of that.

i think the turbo looks better, and has the potential for fun too, although a n/a at the right price could tempt me for the winter at least :yes

but a 1st gen with a 13b sounds like the most \'fun\' if you get my drift :Thumbsup!

I hope it\'s my white one you are talking about Ade :) haha..

I\'ve honestly never seen another FC around Hamilton.. It would be nice to see it though..

Are you close to Hamilton Rich?

Ade - I\'ll reply to your email later tonight when home!

is it an n/a or turbo you\'ve got then?

whats the general concensus on turbo vs n/a then?

well in reguard to UK cars the turbo\'s are better as they are series 5 and the non turbos are series 4.

series 5 in my and most people opinions look alot better. They have nicer rear lights, colour coded bumpers, i think the front bumper looks alot better. They\'re also newer, and have a nicer interior.

for £1000 if you get a TII it will either be a rust bucket (could be with a decent engine) or it will be a project (unless your extremely lucky). NA\'s can be decent anywhere between £600 - £1500. For £1500 you\'ll most likely be looking at one with some sort of respray or a very new engine.

When it comes to tuning theres not alot you can do to the N/A\'s without taking the engine out for porting, if your lucky you can probs get an extra 20hp through breather mods. TII\'s on the other hand are extremely tuneable. I think racing beat claim to do an exhaust which gives you an extra 75 hp...thats just the exhaust.

Both cars are great fun, i have an NA and absolutely love it.

sorry for the long reply....suposed to be doing courseowrk ha!

Find a bit more cash and buy my convertible? The price is somewhat negotiable and I\'d probably let it go for less than I mention in the ad if it goes to an enthusiast...

yep the turbos im looking at are projects, with great potential. i\'ll be checking one out next week. unfortunetly seeing any rotary is a long drive from Glasgow, unless you get lucky!

but overall powers not always the most \'fun\' as ive found from my bike escipades  but a revvy engine is the most fun.

if i hate an n/a i suppose i can always \'upgrade\' to a turbo, but its very tough to take a step back in power if i hate the turbo

im so confused :Hammer

N/A models CAN look just as good.. with a little modding.. I\'ve made alot of changes to mine looks wise.. To be honest i\'m not interested in tuning the engine.. for me its more the styling. It\'s got a new air filter and exhaust system.. but to be honest if the guy before me hadn\'t installed them then i would never have..

I like to think mine is a good example of how good a N/A model can look.. you are welcome to pop over anytime you want if you need a better look at one.

Where abouts is it you work if you don\'t mind me asking?
