split pipe

i noticed recently that the pipe shown in the pic was split, but i\'m not sure what the pipe is for. it has now been replaced, but i haven\'t noticed any performance changes.

any help would be appreciated.

Vacuum line to brake servo.

Your brakes should not require quite so much push on the pedal now.

Also, your engine should run better, as that was possibly letting air into the inlet manifold, but that depends on where the one way valve is in the line? Or in the manifold or servo?
