Hey all,

I have realy struggled to find anywhere which sells engine bay brightwork / mods and general bits and bobs for an FD3.

Everywhere just sells generic parts.

Any advice on where to shop?

chrisJDM

what parts in particular are you looking for???

Bobbit

regarding your front lights issue - if you do a search on here, you\'ll find threads on how to clean them / get rid of the yellow patina

I think the best one was by Nik da Greek?

Have looked and cant locate the post. Will try taking them out and giving them a scrub. Otherwise it\'s a mazda parts counter job i suppose :2Confused

I\'m flattered you remember, Mr Chimp! TBH, the bit I posted up was about splitting the lights to get rid of the internal orange reflector for the indicator so you can use chrome bulbs instead IIRC. This does make them look a lot more up-to date, simply losing the "fried egg" look.

When the actual clear front lens starts to go yellow there\'s not a huge amount you can do. I used Meguiars Plastex (or some such silly name) plastic polish on both the inside and outer faces of the lens whilst they were apart. It does some pretty miraculous work, you can really feel it cut the surface of the plastic, but if the lenses are really yellowed they\'ll never come back perfect again. It does make them look a lot better, though, and it\'s a fairly cheap fix.

I may well have a set of US-style crystal side/indicator units for sale soon, though. They don\'t fit with my new bumper, so once I can dig them out the garage and take some photos I\'ll pop up a For Sale thread

Cheers for all the advice, I have cleaned them up quite well. I have seen a set of clear ones (without the lines in the plastic). Can\'t find anywhere that sells them?
