Fuelling to max stock twins?

Right, i need educating about fuel systems!
Done a whole lot of searching but most people seem to do this when going single - i don\'t want to do that, so need to know what i require for the twins

Car is due an MOT in Feb, so if it\'s going to WGT I may as well add a few more bits and get a new map ::)  (That\'s my logic, run with it... :o )

Current Spec is (important bits):
V-Mount
Apexi Intakes
HKS frontPipe
Tiger silenced midpipe
Racing Beat cat-back (twin exit)
99 Spec twins.
Power FC.

And a few supporting bits (Koyo Rad, SSQV, heat wrap, etc)

Stock ports.

It hit 340ish atf at it\'s initial mapping.

Basically the power is more than enough for what i use it for (weekend toy, track days) BUT at the 0.92 bar that Pip mapped it at it sometimes hits 94% duty on track - I\'m not happy with that.

So, what i basically want to do is run to the safe limits of the stock twins - running this power but at a much lower duty would be fine, but i guess better fuelling would give me a bit more power too - can\'t complain.

So, what do i need to push the stock twins to a comfortable limit?

I\'m thinking:
Fuel pump - Walbro or 044
Rewire fuel pump.

Then the Fuel system - this is where i\'m a total n00b.
I know i\'ll need bigger injectors, and i guess secondarys are needed, but:
What size?
what supporting mods? (Rail and FPR totally neccessary?)
Anything else?
Any suggestions for Kits? one of the KGParts setups?

TIA :)

It\'s surprising they are not already maxed.
044 or a denso pump. 850 primaries the cheapest option. If you go secondaries you may aswell get 1680\'s you will also need an fpr and new rail.

meddy

Deffo get a pump.

850 primaries I think are to be avoided as they are a pain to sort at idle.

With my car even with a FPR and pump (and keeping pressures sensible) my stock injectors were running way high duties at 0.9bar.

I went for a replacement secondary rail and 1600\'s which I realise are complete overkill for stock twins, but it saves changing them later if I go single.

SiH

I had thought about 850 primaries but I want the most refinement i can get - And from what i\'ve seen the best way to go about this is not 850\'s all round - i\'ll happily be shown otherwise though, as it\'s a lot cheaper!

Meddy - what kit did you mind for, and what sort of budget if you don\'t mind me asking?
I was looking at something like 1600\'s just as it seems like the best and most common option.

gmogle

Mine is running 850s all round, yeah it is rich when idling but I\'ve got used to that now.

I do plan to upgrade eventually to the 1600s setup as I would like to go the single route eventually.

But depends on your budget mate, if you want something cheap then go 850s all round but get it mapped properly. If you want to go single later on then go for the bigger secondaries.

SiH

Yup, I was thinking of 850\'s all round, but I always promised this car would not be skimped on, so i wanted to keep the primaries and get bucket spec secondaries so i could keep the low end driveability as good as poss :)

Any suggestions for rails etc?
Injectors? I\'m sure it\'s got to be possible to get it cheape rthan a US sourced KG parts kit
(runs off to his favourite RHDJapan :D)

Shame all the exchange rates suck right now...

BlitzBoy

lol You will not get it cheaper then the Kgparts kit, still a bragain as you get the rail,Bosch Injectors,Aeromotive FPR and fittings

Bear in mind shipping, import duty, and the hugely suckass echange rate right now :(

When I had my engine rebuilt by Pip, he suggested getting 1600cc secondary injectors.  The car already had a walbro fuel pump on it.  It was a few hundred ££ though - speak to him and see what he recommends.

Just to let you know, the car is 333 rwhp (395fwhp) on the twins.  Driveablility is great, car is mapped conservativley and the duty never goes above 80%.

Hope this helps.

Your ported then Twisted?

Im in the same boat now, .79 bar on twins i want .9 so FPR, pump and secondaries. where is this kg parts kit listed? and is it easy to fit?

Yes I am!

The only thing that holds back the boost on the car is the wastegate - Pip said it needed to be ported and it could run 1 bar happily which would be nice.

The fuelling upgrades he made would be more than sufficient for that.

Dammit - there was me hoping that was stock ports :D

If you are going to be looking at going Single later then it\'s worth sorting out your Fuel Lines. Stock they are 6mm, uprate them to 8mm/10mm and you will have a sound basis for any fueling upgrades you do. HTH

Ahhh, the man himself :D
Never going single on mine

When you were pushing the envelope, other than what i have listed, what were you running? Anything more than the above fuelling mods and some porting?
