sounds like its gone.  Sounds should be similar and rear rotor is always prone to going pop before front.  There are various ways of seeing if a seal has gone, compresion check is the one way but then there are a few others. Not sure where they are but do a search on here or on the rx-7 owners club.
sometimes tips can go and ECU\'s will never pick it up, they are looking at sensors, maybe a sensor has failed and caused it to go.
I put 99 ron fuel whenever i can as i have a jap uprated ECU so i have to go careful.

@flatout - would the car get you to Brae?

I visited Eddie Doyle there once and he\'s a rotary nut e.g. about 5 rotor housings sitting in his workshop.  Quite sure he has the compression tester too.

Irish fuel is the same as UK fuel no?!  My cars go alright on it anyway :>

The guy you want to get in touch with is Pip Gardner @ WGT Auto Developments, he\'s an official Microtech dealer (supplier, fitter and tuner) and has spent some 20+ years tuning rotaries.
Havent heard anything but praise for him, just finished dealing with him as he supplier me with an LT-10s, dash unit and laptop dongle, he seems like a complete legend.
Check out http://www.wgtautodevelopments.co.uk/, think it\'s about £150 for a full tune?

Tim at RX Motors also maps Microtechs and is a registered dealer. The LT software is actually quite easy to use, but if you don\'t have the expertise to know what you are doing buy adjusting the various settings you can do way more harm than good!

Hey man, welcome to the club! I\'m prety new here too, certainly to both turbo and rotary power! Lol! I\'m trying to figure out whether or not i\'ve got that dreaded 4000RPM hesitation at the moment (any pointers on what to look for anyone?).

BTW, do you want to sell the advans? Drop me a little line on fc3s@hotmail.co.uk if you do :Thumbsup!.
