Are there more than 20 places per group? That\'s quite a lot on a fairly short track, especially with a wide range of track experience.

M@r]{

Dont worry about space - the above list isnt a list of everyone who has paid up!!  I believe at this point we have about 13-14 paid up - just waiting for an updated list of paid attendees from them.

mpk490p

Mark is there any update on this, times etc

thanks
Mark

I think an email is sent out 5 days beforehand.

Long range forecast says showers, weather around the 15th doesn\'t look too bad either so we may get away with it.

Lotus on Track
Track Day Guide
Rockingham â€" National circuit

This guide contains important information about your track day. It is vital for your safety, and the safety of others, that you are aware of the guide’s contents. Please read it thoroughly before you arrive. If you have further questions please email paul@lotus-on-track.com
CONTENTS
1.   Arriving at the circuit
2.   On track
3.   General Information
4.   Other useful information

1.   ARRIVING AT THE CIRCUIT
You should arrive at the circuit in good time to complete three important steps. Before going on track you must sign on, attend a track briefing and check that your car is roadworthy.
Sign on
07:45-08.25

Please enter the circuit via the main entrance and follow the directions to the inner paddock. Once there you will be directed to parking and to sign on which will be in garage 12.

Complete an indemnity form â€" both drivers and passengers.

You will need to show your FULL driving license â€" both parts.

At sign-on you will receive a coloured wristband to indicate that you                     are signed on. You will also receive a session sticker, please affix this to the top left hand side of your windscreen (passenger side)
Track briefing
08:30 â€" 08:50
This briefing is mandatory for drivers and passengers. It explains the rules of your track day. This will be held in garage 12.

Self-Scrutineering   Your car must be safe for you and others. Please check
•   brake and indicator lights
•   wheel tightness
•   seat belt operation (where fitted)
•   tyre tread patterns

Only drivers and passengers wearing the appropriate wristbands will be allowed on track.
2.   ON TRACK
Your car and safety
Before going on track you must check your car for safety and roadworthiness â€" water, oil, battery connections, throttle return spring, brakes, tyres, wheel nuts, indicator lights are obvious items. Please remove all loose items from both ****pit and luggage areas.
Noise â€" The noise limit at  Rockingham is 105db.
Familiarisation laps
The day is being run in 3 x 20 min sessions. The first 2 laps of the first session for each group will be held behind a pace car. There should be no overtaking in these 2 laps, this is your chance to familiarise yourself with the track layout and check the location of marshal posts and light gantries. Once the pace car returns to the pit lane at the end of the 2nd lap you may start lapping at normal track speed until the end of the session under normal track day rules.

Sessions
The Lotus session will be the first one of the day at 9.00am and will continue on the hour throughout the day. Mazdas will be the 2nd group out at 9.20am and Honda’s at 9.40am. Please listen for announcements in case there are problems and times change.
Track driving rules
Fast driving on a racetrack is clearly safer and more enjoyable than driving on public roads. Nevertheless, there are risks if drivers don’t have the right attitude, ignore the advice of experienced instructors or flout the basic rules of circuit driving. The following rules apply to most circuits.
1.   Drive clockwise and to the right â€" never reverse on the track or in the pit lane.
2.   Overtake only on the left and in the straights â€" never in corners or in braking zones
3.   Overtake only with the consent of the driver in front of you â€" wait for the driver to signal consent by using indicator lights or by waving. The driver being overtaken must lift off the throttle until the faster car is safely past.
4.   Check mirrors carefully before moving off your line to overtake or corner.
5.   Keep moving â€" never stop on the track, even if you see an incident.
It is mandatory for all drivers and passengers to wear a crash helmet
Signals using lights or flags
Track sessions are controlled by flags or lights supplemented by flags. You need to know the position of marshal posts, where flags may be waved, and of light gantries or posts.

Red light or waved red flag   Session is stopped   â€¢   reduce your speed significantly (check mirrors)
•   do not overtake
•   move to the left to allow rescue vehicles to pass
•   return to the pit lane and await further instructions.
Yellow light or waved yellow flag   Danger ahead â€" an incident or a hazard
   â€¢   reduce speed (check mirrors)
•   do not overtake
•   be prepared to stop.
Yellow & red striped flag   There is spillage on the track or a change in conditions making driving dangerous   â€¢    reduce speed and use caution.
Blue flag   A faster car is behind.   â€¢   allow it to pass at the first safe opportunity.
Black flag   A problem with your car (damage, fuel leak etc) or there is a need to discuss aspects of your driving   â€¢   return to the pits and report to the marshals.
Chequered flag   This is the end of the session   â€¢   reduce speed (cool off your engine & brakes)
•   return to the pits at the end of your lap.

Incidents
Always drive within your limits. If your car spins or leaves the track then:
•   follow the instructions of any nearby marshal
•   rejoin the track if you can, but with extreme caution â€" if you cannot rejoin the track leave your car and get behind the barriers
•   report to event control as soon as you get back to the pits.
If you consistently drive beyond your limits, event control officials will black-flag you and exclude you from the track for that session. If you get a second black flag, you will be excluded from the circuit for the remainder of the day.
In all matters of driver and passenger behaviour, the judgement of event control officials and marshals is final. Remember that the high speed handling characteristics of your car may change as conditions vary or your car warms up.
Pit lane safety
You can call in at the pits at any time during your track session. Signal your intention to enter the pit lane using your indicator. Keep to the pit lane side of the track and slow down â€" well before the pit lane entrance. The maximum speed permitted in the pit lane is 10 mph. Park so that other cars and emergency vehicles may pass.
The pit lane is restricted to drivers and cars involved with a track session. There must be no
•   refuelling or smoking in the pits or the pit lane
•   pit signalling
•   children under 16 in the pit lane
•   pit (or in-car) timing equipment
3.   GENERAL INFORMATION
Driver and passenger safety
Drivers are allowed to carry one passenger. Drivers and passengers must
•   have signed on
•   wear appropriate (driver or passenger) wrist-bands
•   wear clothing that fully covers arms and legs
•   wear a crash helmet
•   wear a seat belt (if fitted) at all times.
In addition, passengers must
•   be over the age of sixteen
•   occupy the front seat only.

Insurance
Normal road vehicle insurance is not valid when you are on track or off the highway at a private venue. The indemnity, which you must sign, excludes you from making any claim against damage to the car or the driver/passenger however it is caused. You may be able to arrange insurance cover for the day through your existing broker or insurer. Alternatively, you can take out special track day insurance from a specialist.
Off track
There are some general restrictions that apply:
•   animals are not permitted
•   children must be over 16
•   in car photography (videos must be for private use only and securely mounted)

Good day today, enjoyed it, although I\'ve done something nasty to my brakes yet again - daylight will no doubt reveal all.

Hope the chap that mashed his FD into the armco manages to get it sorted soon. If it\'s any consolation, I was very jealous of your intercooler! :)

And apologies to the guy in the red FD behind me when I decided to take an alternative line after the chicane and went grasstracking! :o

nice to see everyone again,  great day, thanks to Mark and Cheryl.... again.   A few pics of me from the pro photographer.

in a year!

Still a bit of a shake down for me as i only finished putting it together at 9 ocklock last night, but getting there. Spent the morning tweaking what i could. Still need stiffer anti roll bar(s) but that will come.

The car performed really well everywhere else. Water temps never more than 86 degrees and oil temps never more than 95 which is great for a rotary on track.  Brakes work a treat and the front tyres have sooo much grip!

492 bhp per ton and 508 ftlbs per ton at 6psi boost. Still in the early stages with the power so that will increase.

a few pics from the day

My cousin Dave driving,  many thanks to him and all the other that have helped with the car

400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!
