Hi all just a quick question is there any advantage to removing the bonnet insulator as it looks a bit taty under the bonnet

Likewise, two years ago, due to the fact it was dropping horrible flaky sh!te everywhere that\'s probably made from neat asbestos, anthrax and botulism and like, really nasty to breathe, never mind how tatty and loathesome it looked. No ill effects yet, not noticed the image of the bonnet reinforcing coming through and being burnt into the paint or anything :Thumbs-up

Thanks lads I will take it off over the weekend just checking that the reinforcing would not start coming through and paint flaking with the heat off the engine.

It\'s not there to protect against heat from what i understand. It\'s purely there as sound deadening so if you got an aftermarket exhaust system you\'re not going to notice.
