Following my Cat Heat light coming on...
I\'m hearing a croaking/bubbling/vibrating kinda sound but only when I\'m moving?

Could this be the coolant? How do I check if the coolant is low? Can I just top it up or does the whole lot need replacing?

My standard temp gauge is saying its normal though?

Hopefully the video will be good enough for someone to notice the sound!?

I\'ve read all the "bubbling noises" threads and its not the same thing!

It only happens when my car is moving! As soon as I come to a stop the sound goes away so I never have a chance to check under the bonnet!!!

So annoying!

karl_tate

to me it sounds like the inner arch catching on your tyre

Doubt its engine related..if its only when your moving.

Have you checked your exhaust/etc under the car? nothing getting dragged along or anything? Seems weird that its coincided with your cat light coming on.

Otherwise take each wheel of and check for anything rubbing/catching.

Whats the exact symptoms:

Noise when moving
Noise when static
Noise speeds up when increasing speed or revs

From the video, it sounds as if it increases in noise as you begin to move and slows as you stop so guess the engine is ok and does not affect the noise?

Must be wheel on inner arch, or engine catch tray rubbing the floor
