lambo doors are a big no no on an FD, but no for looks,  they should have some serious reinforcement as the FD chassis is very flimsey.  Thats why the have chassis braces underneath and a frame around the door windows.  Look at any other car in its class and they all have no metal frame work around the door glass.  Jack one corner of your fd up and open a door. It wont like shutting as the chassis will be twisted!  The door provides chassis rigidity,  by making the doors lambo style you loose a lot of that.

Looks like it needs a fair bit of money spending to get things right and as tidy as your old one.  The engine isnt worth that much if you dont know its history as it could last a week or a year.   The turbo and gearbox are the most valuable things on it if you like that sort of thing. Sounds like it would make a good basis for a track/drift/drag car but would need a lot of effort to make it a nice road car.

If its the right price and it ticks the boxes for you, then go for it,  only you can decide really mate.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

yeah my F con is plugged into my original ecu to manage some things on the car like oil metering pumps etc, but the F Con controls all the timing fuelling and ignition. You can run the F Con as stand alone

its impossible to run 2 aftermarket ecu\'s i have been told. If you want to borrow my fcon monitor to check let me know mate

Personnally, i can\'t see how doors will be a structural part of a car.

Lum

That may be very useful Ash cheers mate.
I\'m not even sure if it\'s for sale yet, my mate may be keeping it for some drag action!!

AshRX

Let me know mate and ill run through how to use it to set it all up

If its locked and Japanease you might not be unable to unlock it. I know there are some that Re:Worx cant unlock as there arent many of us running Pro Gold.

Speak to Max and give him the serial number and version and he will be able to tell you

they are a very important part of the car.  same as the windscreen.  Look how thin the roof on an fd is (thump it).  That and the floor is the only other thing holding the chassis from twisting without the doors. If you drive a turbo II convert with the roof down, you can feel the flex in the chassis.

Cheers for the help mate, do RE-worx map your FCon?
Regardless of whether i buy it or not we\'re gonna have to get the map checked over before giving it some!

AshRX

That is an early Kazama kit. Not as wide as Bens on the front due to the lamo doors and the wings being shaved down. The kit is worth a bit of dollar.

Having crashed one really quite sternly, I can assure you you want the nice, robust FD doors next to you when you do, geez! The rest of the car really doesn\'t put up with too much.

Car looks ok, but not awesome tbh. It is a nice spec (except the doors), but it seems quite unfinished in a few places, not sure I\'d want to own an ex-competition car with all the usual features (like vital bits of ECU wiring loom hanging out of its gusset lol) unless I was only using it for competitions myself. Doesn\'t lok the sorta thing you could pop up the shops for a pint of milk in!

go for it liam, you know it makes sense, get rid of that silly skybus and buy another rx7 :yes

what i meant by structural was not in the sense of safety. I would agree that they are an  important safety requirement!

I meant adding to the overall chassis stiffness and resistence agaisnt twisting.
