Right just a quicky,

I\'ve been trying to sort out the clunking from the back of my car for a couple of weeks now, at first I thought it was a dodgy suspension bush, so I sorted out the crappy ones, then I thought it was the boot lid, so I sorted that out, and now when I check the exhaust it seems since I fitted the feed silenced mid pipe it is banging on the bar the accross it, the one you\'d bolt a diff brace in teh place off,

Has anyone else had this probem, is there any easy fix?

Come on guys I need a solution

Alan

Fit some washers to move the bar further from the exhaust.

I had the problem with my new single. If Its knocking on a bar you don\'t have much options. You could unbolt the offending part and try and tighten it up in a different position. Helped me, plus a big hammer on my heat shield :Giggle

I can\'t remember - i\'m pretty sure it\'s not structural. What\'s bolted to it? I think it\'s just an attachment point for other bits and pieces.

Nothing is bolted to it, it runs accross behing the gearbox and has 2 bolts on either side.

I have the same mid-pipe and don\'t get the problem.....maybe change the rubber mount nearest it?

i wouldn\'t take it off, it helps strengthen the chassis at a point it would flex

as the main said...use a few washers to move it down

If it\'s a structural part, then moving it towards the ground by putting spacers in won\'t do it much good either!

I can\'t see it being particularly structural personally.
