Where have you mounted your water injection pump?

Well, I tapped into the water tank using the supplied push-fit connector, which seems to take water fine, although there is a very slight leak - don\'t see why this would cause a problem though?

No airholes I\'m aware of, there\'s no water anywhere to suggest a leak. Pump looks identical to all the other ones I\'ve seen in pics of installs.

Someone has suggested putting a one-way valve between tank and pump, might give that a try, but I don\'t really understand what\'s going on as surely once water is in the full length of the system, as long as you don\'t run dry, it will always get water?

This is just aimchair speculation, but if the pump is above the tank, then when it stops pumping, surely the water would flow back from the pump to the tank?  leaving air at the pump...?

I\'ll tell you when I\'ve fitted that one-way valve! ;)

I guess water always looks to level out, so if the level of the tank is below the pump, the water in the whole system will level out so that there is air at the pump. I suppose it\'s not under pressure so that will be the case, but it doesn\'t explain why it works for other people but not for me! ;)

Wow I never knew those 2 WI systems had so many issues with mounting.

I use a PINZ system made here in NZ. Its a pump that is designed to run dry so you never have to worry about it burning out. The system is run at 100psi & it dosent matter where you put the tank in relation to the pump. The pump is so strong it dosent matter. I have my custom 3 liter rotshaped tank mounted to my fake floor in the boot with the pump next to it. From there the line runs right through under the carpet to the greddy elbow & through the nozel. I have a system 1 so mine communicates with my map sensor & I just turn a little knob to adjust at what boost pressure I need the WI to come on. It kicks in @ 10psi & comes on so strong you can watch the temps on the PFC commander drop like a rock. Other systems can even be set with RPM range to vary the ammount of water & other crazy ****. When the system is not in use the pump just circulates the water through the tank untill you boost. My 3L tank last about 20laps of a 2km track that has 2 very long straights of speeds over 200kph so the WI is working hard.

Iv seen temps on the road as low as 13c & under race conditions 22c. In summer on the way home from work the temps can get up to 30c sitting in traffic, once I get to my turn off all it takes is a blast through 2nd & 3rd to instantly get 15c intake temps.
Im sure your systems do the same thing..its awsome to open the bonnet & feel a plenum thats so cold its like you never even started the engine.

I will post pics when I get home.

Sounds good mate!

I have done some more testing on mine and I can see air in the pipe coming straight from the tank, so I don\'t think it\'s a mounting issue but some air getting in at the seal with the tank. Just need to slap some silicone round it and test for air, hopefully that will cure it!

Also fitted the no-return washer valve but it didn\'t stop the problem. :(

What sort of connections do you guys use? Put up a pic of them.

I will show you my plug & play fittings when I post pics later. Basicly small metal fittings with thread on 1 end sealed with some sort of plastic or silicone based sholder that seals up agains the sholder of what ever you thread it into. On the other side is a receptical that you firmly push your hard plastic type hose into, In side the fitting it grabs the hose & pulls it in. To release it you have to hold back the black tab while pulling on the hose. You will see in the pics.

Yeah, they sound similar to the fittings on my Cooling Mist kit, except they\'re all brass.

Pretty much, yep. They\'re not the same, but the principle is identical. I think yours are a bit prettier! ;)
