The headlights on my 92 uk spec will not go down, even when trying to do so manually, the lights work but are stuck. The only way to get them down is to remove the fuse & wind them manually??? I think this happened after going over a bump.

Also the airbag light has started to flash???

If anybody has any idea how I can resolve these problems please let me.

Thanks in advance

Headlights are broken and airbag lights are flashing. Have you checked you haven\'t driven into something?

Car is accident free & the airbag light started flashing after the lights popped up.... I think they popped up after going over a bumpy road at speed.

sickboy2345 - will replacing the lights solve my problem? If so how much do you want for them?

Thanks

My \'92 RX definitely hasn\'t got an airbag. I could tell by the way that when I took the steering wheel off it didn\'t explode in my face!:Laugh Must be a UK model thing

Jap type X And UK spec only has air bags, and all the other extras, have had problems with air bag systems before, not on a REX, it has always been the same thing, it is caused by the \'clock spring wire\' breaking down, this is a wire that follows all steering wheel movement as i understand it, and is located under the steering wheel, and eventually fractures after the steering wheel spinning round for years, then the air bag check warning light flashes, my Scorpio has done the same since i had it, It\'s best not to crash the car! because this wire triggers the bag! not sure how this could relate to headlights not working, probably co-incidence IMHO!

Thanks for the info, I\'ll take off the air bag and have a look.

Best look up on workshop manual before attempting this matey, and study the system, The battery must be disconnected, for a good time before working on the steering wheel with the air bag, i\'m not 100 % but i think there is some voltage stored in the system even after the battery is disconnected, my advice would be to find out as much as poss about the system before starting work on it, there may well be a procedure to follow for safety reasons,
Good luck
