I just noticed that the engine has been recently rebuilt and has 4000 miles on it, that should be past the running in process right?

Hi RX7

I\'m sure it was a build-up because I went for a drive and in the lower gears did some extended 6-7000 rpm runs after which it seemed to clear. I later tried the 2nd gear pull away that normally caused the plume and there was nothing noticeable. So will try again after a day or two and see. As I said I will mention this to Re-Worx when I have some other work done in a week or two.

Have you still got all 3 cats on the car or have you got an uprated downpipe? im guessing if you have more than 1 cat then there is more places for the carbon to cling onto until its cleared out when you rev it. just a thought

Hi RX7

As far as I know the car has no cats at all. I think this may be one for the experts at Re-Worx to check out as I have only had the car a month or so and I am still getting to grips with the ins and outs of ownership. I plan to take the car out for a run Tuesday evening so will check and see if giving it a blast the other day cleared out the whatever it is.
