Guys, Not 100% as yet, but might be able to get a chryogenicaly (spelling???) treated FD Box.... Aparantly they are a min of 50% stronger than a std unit!

if your interested please could you let me know & what sort of offer you are willing to go to.

All will be confirmed once the ball is set in motion.

Mod\'s Please don\'t delete this as I\'m not 100% shure if this is happening as yet, I\'m just doing this to see if there is any interest??

Cheers
Jono

Sy.

I heard of this new chryogenicaly type of procedure you can do on metal things ... makes then stronger .. Would be good to see if parts are stronger .

karl_tate

never heard of it before but sounds interesting,

i take it would mean taking the box out etc etc??

yeah heard of this on gtr. club, someone did it to his crank etc.
if i had 8 hour to cut down a tree. i`d spend 6 sharpening the axe

My mate had it done to the gearbox on his R33 GTR cos it\'s now running some silly amount of power. Wasn\'t cheap, mind, but is supposed to have truly amazing results as far as toughness goes. Certainly cheaper than a full-on dog box from Giken or HKS or whoever!

pete sparrow

Costs around £300 to treat a gearbox.

erm it is cheap as fek actuly
i think it is around £300 which is 1/3 the price of a decent clutch for 50% increase in streanth

its not new by anymeans thoe some race cars have been doing it since the mk2 escort rally cars were new,

prob longer than that too

deep freez were in banzi they do it. just google them

I\'d have to double check with a mate of mine as to cost, but you can do it to new or second hand gear!!

If your interested let me know what sort of fgure you are willing to pay and I\'ll have a chat to my mate who owns the FD box ;)
