Quote from: 20B_boy;5163628 years ago? Abel\'s RX8 used PWR charge coolers certainly for all off 2007. To my knowledge it still does, and its not that slow :)

You say Dragon are very good, but by the same margin, not everyone uses them ;)

My apologies,i thought the pure alchohol setup didnt require the cooler. So what you are saying we shall see reworxs rx8 with a chargecooler on it soon, interesting.:cheers

:cool:cool I am far from a big headed person i just get angry when the car and myself get slated all the time from the likes of 20b boy and yourself with phrases such as "cheque book racer".I work hard for my money that i earn,i have not been gifted it,my 3 children always come first, but what i spend the rest of my money on surely is of no one elses concern. Its particularly hard in this country with the lack of sponsorship to develop a out and out drag car,but hopefully this will happen next year.
I personally think the car should get more recognition that it actually does, the planning and effort gone into building it was unbelievable.Indeed when the 780bhp figures were posted not one of the bigwigs i.e chairman, president, super mods etc said welldone.Sometimes i wonder why i bother, but the enjoyment i get out of planning a car, driving it,the atmosphere of the track, and the laughs we have afterwards far outways the negatives i get from certain keyboard warriors.:cheers

As I said before .... Banter,   you certainly like giving it but obviously dont like receiving.....   nobody said anything about your money or your kids,  you brought all that into it.

Quotes like:  " Indeed when the 780bhp figures were posted not one of the bigwigs i.e chairman, president, super mods etc said welldone.Sometimes i wonder why i bother "  would indicate that you dont do it for personal enjoyment but for recognition.  If you enjoy it then crack on and dont care what others think, I wish I could afford to build a car like yours,  you can so good on you, but accept a little P1ss take occassionally.

Oh,  and I\'m no key board warrior,  the only thing i havent done to any of my cars is mappping, and thats because i need a rolling road. Mapping on the road is a little too dangerous for my liking.

Now stop sitting at your computer  :Typingand get your ass to the Pod  :spank

Antinuk I think you are jealous, the level of car Steve has, is beyond anything you have experienced, so I dont expect you to appreciate or understand. If you had accomplished something succesfull I think you maybe able to talk more, but untill you have actually driven a car with that kind of HP, your comments carry little weight.
Steve does not earn a great deal of money. BUT the big difference is that he is a true enthusiast and therefore the % of his earnings that he is prepared to spend is much greater than yours. He is far from a chequebook racer. I think this level of enthusiasm should be appreciated more, as without cars like his, it would be very poor for Rotary development etc.

I really dont like the phrase "chequebook racer" unfortunately not all of us have the technical know how to build or maintain our own cars so does that mean were not allowed to race them.thats a bit like saying if you dont know how to fit your own kitchen you cant use it. just because we have to pay somebody to do what there good at doesn,t mean to say we have no input into the process.
Thanks

I dont mind receiving it(oops i think i better rephrase that before i get pmd by a few certain types on here) by people who have actually achieved what i am striving for,not by people who have never driven such a vehicle.I personally am after no recognition but ross who built the car deserves some.I would be at the pod today but in the strive for more power the engine is out,but will be ready for rotorstock, fingers crossed.:wave

Ross, I would expect you to stick up for him, you pocket all his hard earned.....  I just hope your customer satisfaction has improved somewhat....

I think you both take things a little to seriously,   it was a p1ss take about somebody who\'s car out weighs their driving abilities (at the moment).....  nothing more and only because he has ripped the p1ss out of every other challenger on here.   Not about how much some body earns or what percentage they are prepared to sacrafice.  You are right, the percentage of my income that I am prepared to spend on my hobby is very little but i still enjoy it but also do a lot of other things.  Jelous, ...............  you dont know me very well :WaveBye

Couldnt say about the RX8 - my point was that a) chargecoolers do work as shown by Abel, and b) there\'s more than one way to skin a cat. Theres no \'best\' setup, what works for one doesnt necessarily work for another :)

Are you serious?! I\'d have said I give you 1% of the grief of the other normal suspects! And as you\'re one of the biggest ****-givers(!) on the forums, you really shouldnt worry about anything you get flung back at you. Think back to Pod last month when u, ross, james, colum, me, geff, max, tim, chris, garyg et al were altogether; I\'m pretty sure anyone in the paddock that day wouldve done anything to help any of the others (like Colum changing your diff, GaryG crewing for Geff on sunday etc); that sums it up for me - the camaraderie  in the pits amongst us all is the real deal and whats important - and I\'m pretty sure we all have the respect for each other that is deserved at the end of the day :yes

No one should care less about anything written on here, its one big **** take :)
