Well, I could not resolve the oil leak (sump area), Davehg had suggested it was coming from the rear oil seal.
I needed to replace the gear box as 1st & 2nd gears were very noisy, so long story shortened;
I purchased a recon gearbox from WGT, went to collect and spoke to Pip, he explained about the oil seal AND the O Ring located at the back of the oil seal housing [never remove the housing unless you have the correct tools and knowledge], Car\'s now at Pip\'s, oil seal was okay, but the O ring was hard and crispy.
Oil leak should be cured.

Many thanks all.

Only down side, is the ACTclutch assembly and flywheel are also worn and has to be replaced, owning a Rex sure is expensive.
With a bit of luck and a lot of help from WGT the car should be ready for Rotostock.
