Guys,

I dont know whether its paranoia, but I think my FD\'s developed a bit of a gruff induction noise. Its as if you press the throttle, and then release - a second or so later you get a gruff growl from around the turbochargers.  I noticed it last night on my way home.  I pulled over and there was a sort of high pitched \'fluttery\' whine which increased as you revved along with the gruff noise, but this is gone now.  I know my turbopack has done a fair few miles, so I eased it home off boost.

Do you think one of the turbo\'s might be on its way out?

nope its normal... sounds like a dimented moo\'ing sound.

u dont hear it with stock induction because the recirculation pipes contain the noise.  I used a small leangth of pipe and fitted a breather to mine.  HKS induction kits come with the required part usually. i dont know about others i\'m affraid :)

Aaah yes - thats a much better description! ...I\'ll put it down to my paranoia then! :) Thanks dude!

Aye - Apexi twin cones. It just didnt seem to sound right not being \'in sync\' thats all - but I\'ll love it for the mooing it is!!

:burnout

If you put a restrictor of some sort into the hose circled here, it should cure the mooing. You can use just a rubber bung with about a five mil hole or so through it, but make sure it\'s firmly fixed in the hose so the it can\'t get swallowed anywhere you don\'t want it. I glued mine in with Loctite high temp black silicone adhesive and it\'s till there a year later. And no mooing!

it is love or hate.. i got annoyed with it after a few months. altho i\'m not sure if i miss it or not now :D

i\'ve got it rig\'d up so it recirculates again now.. as my breather/filter decided to melt and fall off =/ so no need for the blanknig cap on the back of my induction kit now.

trouble i\'m finding is everythings so tight in that area of the engine bay with a HKS twin shroom kit.. does replacing the rubber induction pipework with hardpipes save space?

current setup.. with a loose moo pipe :D (now attached)

Bobbit

I saved a bit of space when i changed to hard pipes. You want to blank that hole up on the ducting for you I/C JohnP. The air will escape from there and not go through the I/C. I blanked mine off with the bottom of an icecream tub cut to shape and then held in place with 4 self tapping screws. Makes a difference and is very easy to do.
:Laugh LOL

will do bobbit..

i thought about doing that when i fitted induction in the first place, except i noticed it was one of the only places cold air comes into the engine bay, as the original black plastic cover was vented to deposit the air back into the induction system?

wasnt sure if it required airflow or not :)

so next question.. recommended place for a decent cold air feed? pics too if poss? :)
