Ok so i should be doing my first oil change tommow (yes what an event)

and it turns out the cars too low to fit on the ramps, so i bought some axel stands.

Just wanted to ask if their is anything i specifically should or should not do?
is there a specific place on the front axel where i should use the axel stand etc? Can i put the car on the stands with the standard car jack, or am i going to need to use a jack the acts in the centre?

any info welcome

cheers

I have to get blocks of wood to gradually bring the car up to a height where I can slide a trolley jack under. I would place the axle stands under the knuckle of the front lower arms. It is quite a straight forward job. Run the engine for a bit to warm the oil and aid draining. Be careful when removing the drain plug as the oil will come out very suddenly. Once the flow has stopped bring the car down as much as possible on one side, raise it back up and lower the other side to drain any remaining oil, you might as well change the oil filter at this stage. Replace sump plug and fill with Castrol GTX 10w40. That\'s it.

What you need is a set of these, i have a set they are fantastic, the safest set of ramps you will find [if you can find them as the company i got them from stoped selling them].:Hammer

Im sorry if this is slightly off the topic, but what rating should axle stands be for an FC? I think I have 2 ton axle stands, would that be ok? :)

Prof

FC Coupe wieghs about 1300KG max, so 2 Ton stands are fine.

I use 2 Ton stands with the Vert - no problem.

I liked these so much i bought some over from the states. My T11 is standard and it just go\'s on, so if your car is lowered you may need a piece of wood say an inch thick to give you a bit of a start before you put the ramps in place.

Hmm thats TII in the pic doesn\'t have the OEM splitter on the front, theres no way it would clear it if someone tried to go up those ramps hmm
