Hi there,

I\'m on the brink of taking the plunge & buying my first FD3. Ever since I saw one in Oz back in 1996 I\'ve dreamed of having one. Last w/e I drove to Kent to test drive a 1994 single turbo RX7 and it was love at first sight. I\'ve read through the forums on here and am well aware of finding a good one and I\'m sure this is a good \'un. The engine was rebuilt by WGT just 5000 miles ago, she\'s had a respray and the interior has been changed to red & silver. Couple of questions for you. Like most blokes I consider myself a fairly capable driver but can I handle 400bhp. She was fine in a straight line but driving sensibly around the twisties, will she bite without warning?
Second question is what\'s that squealing noise coming from the rear tyres everytime a gear is changed. The salesman did tell me but my brain was in the boot at that moment! For insurance reasons she would have to be a second car, & that\'s fine, but what sort of fuel economy am I likely to get, will a modded engine significantly reduce the life of the engine & will I get used to the twin clutch in traffic??

she will bite when you don\'t expect it, but I\'ve felt that i\'ve learnt by the mistakes i\'ve made (i.e. not flooring it off a roundabout in the wet as a zetec focus was up sitting on my bumper)

if ya worried about it, do some track tuition and learn how to handle her. You\'ll love the rx its as fun to drive as it is sexy to look at.. they are like women though, require lots of money and attention and thats no joke :D

The twin plate clutch takes some getting used to but once you get the hang of it it\'ll be ok. In traffic not the best as somewhat heavy but with high power comes the need for durability.

Depending on how you drive will enable you to answer your own question on "will i be able to handle her?" i have found that taking the car out early or late in the day and finding a quiet road to have a blast on is best, as you will learn what to / not to do with the car, remember most people become unstuck while trying to show off!!!! sometimes its better to cruise rather than show every Corsa / Saxo boy how quick the rx is.

In a rx7 you dont race boy racers, you race the higher level cars as you will learn, carrera4\'s, ferraris and so forth waste of petrol on the boy racers mate.:(
