ok another stupid one...

when i turn the engine on my stereo turns on but i need to change it to cd, then pick up the song ...bla bla bla..

i want my stereo to turn on and play whatever it was p[laying last... i know it is something to do with one wire connecting to something but dont know which one..

It\'ll be one of two things:

a) your stereo doesn\'t support this functionality

b) you\'ve connected your permanent "live" power feed to the same power feed coming from your ignition.

Generally you get two power feeds - one direct (via fuse) from the baterry, the other from your ignition. The direct feed is there to store your radio channels/time etc when you switch off the engine.
My guess is you haven\'t got this connected (although if the stereo retains any preset radio stations you may have, then I would guess the answer is a).
Usually, you get a red wire (power from battery) and a (usually) yellow wire (power from ignition). No idea on the colours in the FD though sorry!
Point to note, it\'s not a good idea to run both off the ignition - the wiring generally is designed to take that kind of pull..

ok but where would this red wire would be? i got plenty of them...do i need to track it from somewhere?

Aceman

It could be anywhere...

I assume you\'ve cut off the ISO connectors and so only have bare wires behind the stereo?

In which case it\'s likely the loose fat(ish) red wire which goes nowhere...

If not, have you a pic of the wire mess behind your stereo?

sickboy2345

i think there was one wire but cant really tell if its red...il take a pic on saturday as im working away at the mo....

cheers
