Hi all.

Im new and about to board the rx8 train :yes

Just got a couple of questions if you guys could kindly help.

Does the standard head unit have sockets (cant remember the name) for an amp to plug into? Also what sort of space are we looking at in the boot.  I have a double 12" kicker box and just wondering if there will be any problems fitting it in there?

Cheers in advance

Hi Terry, there are no RCA/phono connectors on the back of the HU. The only way to get a sub running is to tap into the speaker cables coming from the in-built amp in the boot (assuming the 8 has a BOSE install). As long as your amp can take a line-level input from speakers then you should be OK. There are quite a few write-ups on this technique floating around on-line.

Cheers craig.  I have another headunit i could use but i rather like the look of the bose unit in there.  Guess it saves me running more cables through the car
