Decided i\'m gonna try and sort the fuel surge issue in my car once & for all (with some help from u guys hopefully:yes)
I\'m currently running a Bosch 044 pump in tank complete with the sock/filter on the bottom. I\'m getting fuel surge, which is causing the car to lean out at between 1/4 & 1/2 a tank of fuel and i don\'t know why:3Confused
The pump seems to be mounted well low in the tank, is it possible to mount it too low??
Here\'s a pic of my setup-

Anybody got some advice on how to solve this? Who\'s running the same pump, do you have any issues with it?
Thanks:Talking1

ive got the same problem but im using a BNR33 pump. you will also be getting slosh when going round left hand corners to the same affect.

options are either swirl pot, or changing the baffles in the tank, i know feed make one as do a few others iirc.

How do you know your running lean? fuel pressure dropping or have you got a wideband?

The number Ive got for you has stopped working!

an easy option is tank foam,  fuel safe sponge that stops the fuel sloshing.  044 was never really designed to be in tank.  it sucks like fduk,  the best option is a swirl port.
400 BHP - 650 KG\'s = 616 BHP Per Ton of Rotary Power

That\'s the way to do it! :Thumbsup!

Swirl pots need mounting, and they arent very safe in the car.

The pump is best in the tank, what it doesnt like is pulling on a large head.  It needs to be as close to the draw point as possible.

The Jay racing socks for the 044 pump are proven to collapse very easily due to design flaw and the pump ends up sucking the sock rather than fuel.
