Quote from: Mart160plus;504194Just avoid the ring road around Brussels as the bluddy concrete surface will have you climbing the B posts with the noise it makes.
Lol, I hear that! Holy ****, how could they make a road surface so annoying11! 888\'s make it even more pleasant :2Rolleyes

I\'ve heard noise is a BIG problem this year...any of you guys know how loud your cars are?

96.5 for me....is it even worth me going?

AtomicRex

94Db for us...so no worry with that!

what are you using to get that? I have a FEED Sonic mid-pipe which apparently has a reputation for being one of the quiet ones, and a Racing Beat twin-round exit tail pipe.

to be honest i could do with it being under 95....loud cars are for the young! i just want to get on as many tracks as possible...

I took my Rex last year, but the cost of getting it there and back pi**ed me off. Last year was £250 on fuel. Hate to think what is costs now. Add Shuttle costs  etc and it really builds up
Went in April this year for two days evening lapping. Flew RyanAir cattle classs for £50 and hired a rent a racer at :  http://www.rent-racecar.de/gb/.

I would do it again rather than risk my pride and joy on the armco.
Only down side.... Wreck the racecar and you pay the first 8000 euros !!

PS. Dont go to the Ring. It\'s highly addictive automotive crack and will lead to your financial ruin as you will want to keep going more often..LOL

Max was there the other week and had no problems at all, I\'d be surprised if his is sub-96, very. Its rather a case of pot luck tho, depends whos in the carpark. Try and be conspicuous and take a bung or some other method of quietening if you know you\'re border-line. Or get some thing quieter :)

This will be my 10th year

And at one point I would be taking customers there 7 times a year!  And at times doing 35 laps a day!!

Its at least £1k for me to trailer the racecar over once youve taken every thing into account.

Its our own exhaust and made to our spec, which is why it is so quiet!!

I find (touching massive amounts of wood here) that they tend to target the motorcycles due to the higher pitched whine at full tilt, rather ferrari V8 than hemi V8. Saying that I\'ve been so scared of being thrown off in recent years I\'ve taken a variety of silencers to stuff in my exhaust as it\'s 5" at the back and 3" all the way from the turbos. Never had to use one yet, again touch wood. I just creep up at minimum speed to and through the toll gate.

With what did you measure your dB level ? I could do with knowing as I want to do a few track days in the UK.

Cheers.

I\'m considering getting a silenced mid-pipe before i go just to make sure.

i wouldn\'t bother going if you don\'t...i doubt you\'d get one lap, or even through the gate!

Is this something you manufacture, or have manufactured for you? Is it a one-off?

To be quieter and not have to worry about places like Bedford, Goodwood and the \'ring i am quite prepared to get another pipe. I\'d need to map it and lose a few BHP i guess but what the hell, its for use on all tracks, not the dwindling list of ones i can get on.

Noise issues are here to stay and whinging about them won\'t help.

Details, prices? Full system, etc?

cheers

Andy

AtomicRex

They are something we have manufactured for us.

They are repackable and so if you find the noise is getting too much, whip off the end plate and reajust the packing.

Look in our section under exhausts.

Quote from: rotary_rogersFC;503741i think we need to get a rx7 convoy to the ring going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would be well up for that

I would be up for that.. I am going to be out there for a week from the 13th June (less than two weeks!), would be good to see some other RX7s out there
