Door handle button

On the inside door handle  of my car the bit the handle pulls into theres a sort of rubber button on the inside edge. Can anyone tell me what this is for??

If it is the bit i think it is then it pops out to reveal a screw, not to be played with unless you intend to take the inside panel off.

If its not then i don\'t know, post a pic if you can....
